I listened to a lot of his podcasts (They were not political at all, just interviews with several old school wrestlers with Gerald Brisco) and one thing seems to be certain isnhe was pretty much always shockingly a champion for progresiveness and multiple cultures being represented. This is what made Eddie respect him as well as Eddie said most Mexicans had to deal with a guy like JBL in their life and encouraged him to go all in.
