Most of my least favorite things in RPGs are just modern anime tropes honestly

Now we need to overlay tvtropes anime section overtop of tvtropes rpg section and see how close they are.

-When the gameplay and cutscenes conflict each other logically. (example: Cloud or whoever the hero is can survive bullets in a random encounter but he's helpless when a gun is held to head in a cutscene.)

-Inaccurate portrayal of governmental systems (not just monarchies but republics as well. Tales of Graces is an example of this.)

-And speaking of monarchies, I'm also a little peeved at their prevalence in fantasy RPGs.

battle (or other) systems that use timed button presses as the core gameplay mechanic

like in Legend of Dragoon and the Shadow Hearts series judgement ring forced to be used for literally everything in the games

otherwise great games ruined by an insufferable unplayable fundamentally irreparable mechanic
Are you kidding? That's just mixing a little live action with turn based.

I mean, I kinda get it. If it's something like causing instant crits/defense if you press a button when contact is made, that's one thing, but a telegraphed circle with button presses like Shadow Hearts is lame in practice most of the time for me.

Believe what you want. You spelled Cheondoism wrong. So I assume you got your answer from an AI search result. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheondoism
I am not going to help you further. You can choose to self help or choose not to.

Your own link that you posted only notes that the government "favors" the religion, and it only does that because it's "distinctly Korean." The religion in general appears to have little to no influence in the country. What you SHOULD be linking to, is Juche, which is ACTUALLY influential. Except that would completely dismantle your entire argument because Juche is an entirely secular ideology.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juche

Also, you still haven't been able to back up your central claim against churches. You seem to be pretty prejudiced against religion in general, but I want to point out that the question concerns churches, which are institutions.

And remember, a small handful of examples does not constitute a strong argument. Your case is that these churches are "usually" evil. Even just looking at, say, the last few hundred years of Western history, I don't see much evil coming from the Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church, the various Lutheran churches, Presbyterian, Methodist, Anglican, Pentecostal, Baptist, etc. etc. In fact, they're usually moderating forces against various other societal or state evils. And then you need to make the same case regarding other non-Christian religious institutions as well. So how exactly are you going to defend your sweeping generalization when a broad survey would seem to show the counter-examples to be exceptions rather than rules? It's just not a serious argument, and I think it's pretty obvious that you're either ignorant or prejudiced.

Please go ahead and list for us all the various religious institutions which you find to be evil.

the concept of religion itself is an artificial contrivance to manipulate the ignorant masses. Furthermore the contention of religious superiority ("my religion is the one true religion, thus we must eliminate all other false religions") [Hint: All religions are false.] causes unnecessary, unavoidable sociopolitical conflicts -- even to those who have no affiliations.

It's unbelievable in this age of science and reason, that one's alignment to a specific suite of superstitions still plays a dominant role in peoples daily and political lives.

Long, unskippable cut scenes.
Bosses with too much hp, auto healing, and ohko moves.
Character only equipment. Especially if it's a rare enemy drop.

Being forced to craft even the most basic items that you need to use often

If you level up the enemies level up or straight up are replaced with stronger enemies

Game has a huge skill tree but it's full of "increase fire resistance by 4%" -like slots

Content that is locked to New Game +

Le Church is le evil (voted for that one)

You're part of le resistance

Spending the entire game chasing and fighting a villain, you finally defeat them, and suddenly it's revealed that the villain was being influenced by Trogdor the Burninator, an ancient demonic entity hellbent on destroying the universe. Now go do this long backtracking fetch quest to gather the 12 keys needed to enter the last dungeon, Trogdor's Domain.

Bosses gain new moves in FF8 if you level up past certain thresholds! That game's balance is whack if you either metagame too much or not at all.

Other: long, unskippable cut scene right before difficult boss fight.

Dishonorable mentions:
--No or little backtracking. Can't get missables, can't fool around in places you've cleared
--Nearly all of the party members you get are temporary, which makes leveling them up feel hollow (e.g. Saga Frontier 2)
