Not at all surprising. These last four years have been very eye opening for a LOT of people. I went from everyone I know voting Democrat four years ago, to everyone voting Trump this time. People that HATED him in 2016 and 2020 voted for him. Myself included.

Yep, last I looked (may have been updated since last night) Trump got ~2 million fewer votes than 2020 and Harris got ~15 million fewer votes than Biden did in 2020. Trump didn't win so much as Harris lost to herself.

Except that's a giant lie. Trump got less votes than in 2020, while 18 million Democrat voters in 2020 decided not to vote.

I really hope you enjoy the economy you voted for. 1 day after the announcement that the casino-bankrupter and destroyer of the US economy in 2019 and 2020 won, the media was reporting on how bad he'll be for the economy. Corporations and companies are already getting ready to raise prices on all their products because of the heavy tariffs he'll be placing on non-US goods.

China is going to sit back and laugh while American citizens eat the cost of Trump's tariffs. If you think you're paying too much now due to corporate greed, things are going to get so much worse in the next 5 years.

Oh, love the news report that 1 day after the election, Musk and other billionaires earned $64 billion just because Trump won the election. How much will they put back into the community? Nothing. When you're losing your house or car because of the tariffs and destroyed economy, just remember that you helped Musk and his friends buy more yachts.

Also, it's clear as day now that the media needs to be blamed. They purposely hid stories about how dumb Trump was and they literally waited until after the election to say how bad he'd be for the economy. But hey, guess who owns almost every news outlet in the USA? Billionaires! The same ones that got a nice pay-day yesterday.

Trump won because mods banned politics. This loss of Democracy is on them. We lost the chance to appeal to peoples decency

Exactly. People treat this stuff like a game and will fight (with words for now) and outright hate each other over it. This phenomenon isn't new to the social media era but is definitely exacerbated by it. It's like sports team rivalries but much worse and more toxic.

People aren't mature enough to discuss serious topics like these seriously.
