Gotta say though..any kind of nostalgia people have for the past has always been completely insane to me. Such lower living standards

Love the show. Grew up on it. It was a much tamer family oriented show than most of the classic tv westerns I grew up on but it was still very enjoyable. Around the same time frame another family oriented historical drama tv series that was really popular was The Waltons. I enjoyed both but enjoyed Little House on the Prairie more because of the more western setting.

Also was already a Michael Landon fan from one of my favorite western series of all time Bonanza. So yeah I liked it. I read all the books too when I was in Elementary and the books are quite good. There is 8 of them I think. Its been awhile.

I revisited it a couple years ago. Nellie Olson is the ultimate mean girl, I love her.

I've never gotten around to watching it despite wanting to, but my parents are always watching the DVDs. The theme song is now a permanent part of my memory.

Last one I watched was where some kid was addicted to morphine or heroin. That stuff was over the counter back then.

I was like LHOTP going hard.

This show is on my bucket list of shows to watch before I die.

Later seasons familier faces in the cast shows up. That one dude from JAG is in a episode where they run away and no one knows where they went. Its a very good episode and a good series overall. Remember the pilot episode follows the book.

I cant watch it because that shopkeepers wife just pisses me off.

My dad is usually watching it on Roku, even if he's at work I will leave the show on and catch bits and pieces when I'm coming from the kitchen. It's a really good show.
