Probably not. It's a good move to tease going pro, but all of his fights are circus fights for crazy spectacle more than being good at boxing. Paul loses so much by losing to an actual boxer, and gains very little beating random boxers the average guy hasn't heard of.

If he decided to dedicate himself entirely to it, maybe?

Especially at the entry level, money and an actual training camp can buy you success.

27 is pretty late to build a serious career if he wanted any hope of being a contender tho.

In case there was any doubt, the fight with Tyson should make it clear that he has no chance going pro.

I mean... and I mean this sincerely, what would be the point of him going down that road?

Not to say he couldn't do it out of pure passion and love for the sport, but to be a professional to make a living at it? Dude already makes a lot of money, more than all but the most successful boxers of ALL TIME, without putting himself in real significant danger.

If he wants to do it out of pure passion he could have a decent run taking on mediocre range boxers, might get skilled enough to become ranked in some capacity. But he would need to dedicate his life to it and put himself at risk of serious harm, cause those higher ranked dudes? This is the ONLY time in their life they can make money like this and they are gonna fight like it.

I dont care if he was Mike Tyson or not. Paul faced off against a 58-year-old man, whom hasnt seriously boxed in almost two decades, and has dealt with drug addiction and severe health issues in that time, the latter being within the past few months.

He was only able to win via points after going through all eight rounds.

He's pretty old to start boxing but he has at least done a lot of the physical work and training so he's in a better position to start than most other 27 year-olds. Everything he's done up until now is completely meaningless in determining if he has any actual potential though. His dozen sub-Jackass level clown shows were great paydays but make him about as much of a boxer Johnny Knoxville is.
