Only thing I care to see is Pekora winning content creator of the year.
Though I think Miko might have had a better gaming related year for Hololive with Suisei having the best year in general for any of their talents.

Well since I have yet to see one person say they know any of the others I like her odds. Which is the exact scenario Ironmouse won in last year.

I know its probably the least popular category, but its kinda crazy that College Football 25 (first college football game in a decade and the top selling game of the year so far) wasn't nominated for Best Sports Game.

Good for her. It'd be great to have more people discover her and fall into the rabbit hole (heh). Pekora is my second favorite HoloJP member after Subaru.

...anyway, good for Balatro for getting the nomination. I see some people are pretty upset about it, but eh, I'd say it's pretty deserving.

Pekora did manage to get over 100k people to watch her streams for DBZ Kakarot.

She's active and grinds out gaming streams unlike say Gura who rarely streams or Marine who focuses more on chatting.
Her Ark and Minecraft events got big traction.

Aqua had the highest peak but the character has been graduated.

Miko this year has popped off big time too.

I'm not a huge JRPG fan (or at least, not much into FF or Atlus games) so yeah, not too much has caught my eye this year. The indies I've tried have been decent but I definitely don't feel they're above the usual lineup, maybe even a bit weaker. Balatro and Helldivers were both good, Animal Well seems cool though I haven't played it, but I've not seen anything else which interests me yet.

Vtubers are literally just streamers, y'all, I don't get the vitriol.

Yeah, sounds a bit hipster. They're not inherently better or worse than non-virtual streamers.

Well, I guess you can make the case that all streamers are virtual since they're broadcast through digital media and therefore not technically physical in front of you.

And you can't even say it's because vtubers act an all over-exaggerated manner because streamers have been doing that for a decade.

Some of them legit have anxiety over showing themselves or they're disabled and it would genuinely be off-putting to put themselves out there.

Yea I have nothing against vtubers, I just don't watch streamers in general so I know they aren't really for me. They look pretty fun though

Honestly I don't care for vtubers, but y'all do you. I think there's one vtuber I've ever watched who doesn't put me off, and it's probably because their model's style and emotiveness exists, unlike all the rest.

Caseoh is the only one I'd heard of, and only because of the Meatcanyon animation where he becomes so big the Earth is consumed by his weight.

Elden Ring isn't the only previous winner nominated for the same category again this year. The other one definitely isn't going 2 for 2 though.

The big difference between Hololive specific talents and regular streamers seems to be focus on music. From music videos to live shows.

Also to my knowledge they don't really shill scam products like I've seen many English youtubers do.

Tends to be collabs with big established brands. So less likely to have a Pokimane cookie situation or ads for betterhelp.

Cali did the ending theme for the Suicide Squade anime this year, and there was a whole Gura day at Dodgers stadium, so I'd say they're pretty recognizable at this point.

Alongside Suisei who has become somewhat actually mainstream in Japan.

Also yeah, people going nuts over Elden Ring DLC being nominated is hilarious considering that a complilation re-release got nominated. THAT feels like there should be a rule against it.
