I'm envious of people who are able to work from home. But all in all I have no complaints. I live in the Midwest so I have the easiest drive in the world down a mostly empty highway. I'm only 15 minutes from my garage to the parking lot at work. I don't deal with any traffic or issues. I know my job is legitimately impossible to work from home and it is probably healthier for me to actually get up and get out of the house and move around. In my spare time I don't leave home and barely leave my chair from my home theatre setup. I'd seriously barely every get any activity if I could magically work from home. And I get to goof off and slack at my job a lot anyway. I work 2nd shift. I'm at work right now, goofing off on CE and getting ready to eat my evening meal and watch about 4 hours of various youtube videos about Farming Simulator 25 killing time until the end of the night. So even though I don't mind going to work and I have way too good of a job to switch to anything else there definitely is a big part of me that is envious of those who can stay home. But I really am happy for those of you who are able to do this. It really has led to an improvement in the quality of life for many of my friends. less wear and tear on vehicle, gas usage, and just generally more time because they don't need to dress, commute, and all that. So yeah it is a money saver and a big time improvement. I'm happy for you and them. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. Im not a huge fan of it. Im only one day a week wfh, which is handy for scheduling things i need to do though. I also work in healthcare but in more administrative work. I prefer to separate home from work and i often need to directly speak to doctors who are hard to comtact when i dont see them in the hallway. My commute to the hospital isn't bad though, and I'm legit busy most of the work day. So I'm not really able to do much more at home on the clock than just change up laundry rq. So that factors in. --- I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't mind working in a store(general manager). I couldn't do my job from home, but I do like the balance of having a place where I cannot be here. My commute is 45 minutes each way, if I had a much smaller commute I wouldn't mind. I think if a job could be work from home, it should be, because it seems better all around. ... I feel you. I work from home and I could never go working in public ever again. It's so nice. I am working right now in my PJs. I do my best to keep myself out of danger of ever being fired and it works because my supervisor absolutely loves me and meetings before my day off, she's always like "we'll miss you tomorrow!" I work from home and I vastly prefer it to working in the office. As you say, not having a commute saves so much time. I also like that I can set up my work space exactly how I want it. MacadamianNut3 posted... It is nice but just make sure you're disciplined enough (I am not) where you can still separate your work life and personal life. Otherwise you can fall into the hellhole where you feel like you can't fully relax in your own homeOne thing I do is I have a work space set up that's just a work space. I don't use it for anything else. I live in an apartment so it's not a separate room - just a corner of a room. But there's still that little bit of separation where when I'm working I'm physically in a different spot than when I'm eating dinner or relaxing or whatever. --- "If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be." ... I've been working from home since early 2020 and love it. I'm less stressed because I don't have to deal with commuting. I've saved thousands of dollars on gas alone. I also am able to take breaks to throw in a load of laundry or run to a doctor's appointment, etc. In 2022 they made us go in once a month for meetings which was whatever. It was a waste of a day but they were fine with you coming in for just the meeting and then leaving after. It sucked because it's a 45 minute drive for me (if there's no traffic which there always is so it's always closer to 60) but since I could go in later I was still able to drop my son off at school and also leave before the afternoon rush hour that would make the 45 minute ride in to 60+. It was also my least productive day of work. A few months ago they announced the 1 day a month is now 4 days a month (every other Wednesday and Thursday) for "culture" and you have to be in the office the full 8 hours which means I have to get up at 5:30AM on those days so I can be on the road by 6:30 in order to reach the office by 7:30 so I can leave at 3:30 or 4:00. I absolutely hate those days. My wife had to change her schedule for those days so she can drop off our son and pick him up from school. They have also decided in their infinite wisdom that you cannot use PTO on in office days unless part of an overall longer vacation which makes no sense unless you're saying working remote is not really working. They swear it's not going to increase any more than this but time will tell. Honestly the only reason I'm still at that job is because it's mostly remote still and I'll be out the door for good if they try and add more days or make it full RTO. I've seen what it's like on the other side now and I'm not going back. --- "How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. I work from home right now and I really like not having to drive or commute anywhere. Saves a lot of money in gas. I can walk anywhere I need so I don't need to take a car anyway.
