This country proved they like felons (and liars) last month and theres certainly no doubt that they looooove guns, so wheres the bad look?

Biden put his son ahead of his position. Any father would do that. Id think less of him as a person if he hadnt done it.

I don't like it. There are plenty of people that have been screwed over by our "justice system" and Hunter is getting a pass for it because he's related to the Bidens.

Not only did he say he wasn't going to do this, but it's frustrating, because there are far more important things that he could have been that aggressive about to make things better for others and more people, but it's met with passivity. But he'll bail out his own son.

It really helps paint a picture of "same thing both sides" or that politicians are just social elites that have no regard for the law when it applies to them.

I really don't care what or who he pardons, I'm done with him.

My opinion of Biden is already so low it's popping out of the other side of the Earth. He and Merrick Garland did nothing about Trump and now we will all suffer for it. Fuck him.

Not at all. If people try to challenge the legitimacy of the pardon due to Biden's self-interest then that would negatively affect any attempt Trump might make to pardon himself.

No it won't. Biden old was still used twice in a row despite the fact that Trump is the same age now that Biden was when he ran. It never affected Trump.

That took place in the court of public opinion, where most of our beloved citizens care nothing about consistency. This challenge would take place in an actual court. Of course, the Supreme Court is rigged in Trump's favor, but they'll probably want to seem at least a little impartial. I doubt they'll find Hunter worth risking that over, though.

That, and Biden said he wasn't going to do it. I voted for Biden the first time and would have voted for him again, but I don't like him and I don't like this decision.

I think they would use Hunter as a distraction. But there's no guarantee Trump wouldn't have tried to take it further at some point, as he doesn't care either way about what hunter maybe did wrong, as trump and kushner did similar but much worse

Hunter's useful to all the performative Republicans and phony centrists who only want to steal from the USA while distracting you with fearmongering nonsense.

I'll be honest: I don't care.

At worst, he'd be punished worse than the average person of his social standing. It's not exactly something I'd care about when your average US citizen is treated so much worse for pettier crimes.

Sure, it's a little unethical, but honestly I don't really care all that much. If it had been some horrendous crime that he was pardoning I might care more, but nah. He's just safeguarding his family from retaliation in the bear future.

I care in the sense that I am so tired of "rich people don't have to face punishments for crimes." Just because it's "your side" doesn't make it ok.

Not because of the pardoning, but because he said he wasnt going to pardon him and then did it anyway.

Yeah if we ignore all context and just look at it from "biden lied ppl died" then yeah you should think less highly of Biden. But when you leave imaginary fairy tale utopia land and realize that if Biden didn't do that, Trump was going to go all in on Hunter like Republicans have been trying to do for years then no what he did as a father makes complete sense.

So honestly I wonder if people realize what reality they live in if they have an issue with Biden going back on his word about not pardoning his son. This is just a different version of Democrats being delusional like the people who didn't vote for Kamala because she was complicit in genocide, so with all of that moral grandstanding we got something way worse and it wasn't like Trump was hiding what he was planning to do. Great job there

What do you mean "what do I mean?" On what grounds? I sincerely believe Hunter would have been punished worse than a standard lower middle class person . Remember, this is coming from a group that routinely had people chanting "lock her up" for Hilary Clinton, and literally nothing happened to her.

I think more highly of biden for the decision if anything, he's saving his son from certain death when the upcoming regime starts up.
