It seemed like people liked Veilguard but every time it gets brought up, there's always a mob ready to jump on it. Kinda makes it hard to know how much of the criticism toward it is real when there were people ready to hate it on release.

I'm pretty shocked I Am Your Beast is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam if that's the game I think it is. The voice acting was so bad in the Next Fest version.

As an outside observer (haven't played it or any other games in the series), my understanding is that it's a good game, but a bad Dragon Age game. Like it's fun mindless action, but the writing isn't up to the series's standards.

as far as Veilguard goes, I watched a review where the person was saying how it has a good story, but how it also has poor writing, if that makes sense.

like, the plot and story beats are good when things pick up, but how there is too much quipping and how characters spell out everything that's happening, without letting players come to some conclusions themselves.

that seems about right, from what I've played, and the gameplay is pretty basic, but overall I think it's a decent to good game but it falls short of what Bioware produced in the past.
