Thompson who was killed in what police called a targeted shooting outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown exercised stock options and sold shares worth $15.1 million on Feb. 16, less than two weeks before news of the federal antitrust probe went public, according to a Crains New York Business report from April. People are praising this man more than they are condemning him beyond the 'murder' part of it. That business is predatory, plays with people's lives and EVERYONE hates it. I expect with all this coverage and how all the people silently happy about it in many places (ya know, thoughts and prayers while thinking 'ha, he had it coming to him' because we know many people do), someone is going to be encouraged to do it again. And unless something comes out that he was about to flip on the others, it's unlikely he would have been cooperating in an investigation that would damn himself.
