headline / article is very misleading. it says he wants to ban ingredients that are used in those products, not the products themselves. so in theory, the companies could re-create the recipes for those items without using the banned ingredients. remember, all of those sketchy ingredients were put into these products so companies can maximize their profits -- they don't care if it means you get cancer in 50 years.

while i do think RFK is pretty nutty, he is right about some of this stuff. look at how lenient the US is compared to the EU with respect to consumer protection and these sketchy ingredients. the American food industry has successfully lobbied Congress / FDA to allow them to put really strange shit in our foods, all so they can make more money.

The FDA doesn't just casually approve artificial ingredients. If RFK Jr. wants to avoid all food and products with Yellow 6, good for him, but don't force it on the country.

Actually they do. All a company has to say is that an ingredient is similar to one already on the market (without proof) to get it approved.

And of course some people don't have much of a choice, especially since eating healthy is expensive in certain areas.

Perhaps farmers should grow some real food instead of corn syrup?
