Yeah. The prerequisite though is you need to be interested in the world of Harry Potter. They really captured the spirit of it and the castle is really fun to explore. Otherwise you will probably find it to be just a middling Ubisoft style game. Also, you probably don't want do a lot of the collect-a-thon stuff, it will get boring quickly.

It's fine but not particularly amazing unless you're really into Harry Potter as an interest.

Yeah, I've pretty much only surface-level appreciation for HP. Only watched the first 4 films, never read the books. Didn't particularly dislike anything about it, it just didn't really grab me. I do like the concept of playing as a custom wizard, though, so idk.

'Meh' about covers it. I thought it started out pretty strong, but pretty quickly becomes another mostly empty open world stealth-optional action game with the standard selection of side content, and unless you really like Harry Potter, probably won't rise much above 'meh.

Yeah. I mean at the end of the day it's an open world collectathon set in the HP world but that obviously has a ton of appeal if you're into that.

it's not bad, but it's not exactly great either. the game had tons of potential for being amazing, but really fell short in a lot of ways.

it's basically a standard ubisoft style open world game that takes place in the harry potter world. I played through most of it and had fun while playing, but the open world was pretty barebones and even the in-school stuff was a one and done sort of thing.

7/10 as someone who liked harry potter growing up, but was never a super fan. minus the nostalgia, it's a 5 or 6 at best.

it could've been way better tbh, both as a world of harry potter thing and as an open world game.

Without the HP license it's passable as an action game. With the license, the section in the school starts off really strong, but outside is just an Ubisoft-style open world. Flying around on a broom is fun for a time; though it takes seasons passing in the game to get the good upgrades. Ultimately you can tell that the devs had to cut out a lot from the game. Had it been allowed to have an extra year of dev time there would have been a fleshed out experience both in terms of gameplay and how the school year progresses in the story.

Its alright, Honestly, You never ever really feel like a student at hogwarts and the large open world is bland and generic as hell once you get out of the school and Hogsmeade

Its pretty much carried by its IP

If youre a passive HP fan, then it probably wouldnt come off as anything too great. For really big HP fans, there was definitely a lot of love and care that went into the game that they would find fascinating.

Its a pretty mid game. Its a pretty generic open world action hold-on-a-minute kind of game, and its not really doing anything bad, but also doesn't really do anything that well.

Because its more interested in the above, it doesn't really do a lot of the actual whimsical Harry Potter stuff that you might actually want from a Harry Potter game.

Wouldn't say no to getting it at 75% off, but its a pretty forgettable game on its own, and really feels like a bit of a missed opportunity with the Harry Potter franchise.

Exploring the castle is good for a few hours, but you probably won't get all that much out of it if all you have is a passing familiarity with HP. Outside the castle (and Hogsmeade, I suppose), there's very little to recommend. Generic open world action as far as the eye can see.

Personally, I was expecting there to be more sim elements, and was disappointed that there are none. It doesn't feel like you're a student, it feels like you're just someone who pops in on a single class every few weeks and spends the rest of your time being a Ubisoft protagonist.
