I know a lot of people who prefer manuals because they say they prefer the driving experience, but I've never really understood that if the majority of their driving is just stop start traffic. Mostly I think it's just economics and circumstance. You go to a car dealership, most cars are manual. You have more choice that way. Maybe they're cheaper to build and service. I am of the belief that if everyone drove manual, thed probably be more focused on actually driving their 3000+lb hunks of metal. There's an insane amount of coordination incompetence that people turn a blind eye to and are coddled on top of it.
