The gaming landscape has changed so much since the last major Simpsons game and there are a lot of companies licensing out their IP to really good AA/indie-tier games.

EA had the simpsons license?

Did they make anything with it other than that shitty decade old mobile game?

Yeah. The Simpsons Game, Minutes to Meltdown, Itchy and Scratchy Land, and the iOS and J2ME version of Konami's arcade game. With the exception of the first one (which was on basically everything else), all of them were mobile games (and Minutes to Meltdown and Itchy and Scratchy Land were pre-smartphone mobile games).

They also published Road Rage (except the GBA version; that was published by THQ) and Skateboarding (as well as the European version of Wrestling), but those were before EA had that exclusive contract, as other publishers were also putting out licensed Simpsons games around then, like THQ and Vivendi Universal.

Give us something similar to the South Park games.

I fell for the "actually it got better" excuse and the show still kind of sucks. The stories are slightly more grounded than they were before but it just feels like a completely different show. It's not funny, most of the humor is in signage gags and slightly behind-the-curve pop culture edits, and almost all of the voice actors sound like they've got one foot in the grave

I think theyve gotten good again since the mid 20s (season number wise).

I was literally thinking about how they really need to make more Simpsons games. There is SO MUCH potential there.

A Smash Bros.-type fighting game would be amazing. Or even just like a regular action adventure game like The Simpsons Game would be nice.

The first nine seasons of the are great. After that it went downhill fast. It still has some great moments but it should have ended twenty plus seasons ago. It's not a "modern" problem.

The mobile Simpsons Arcade was NOT Simpsons Arcade. The first level slightly resembled the first stage, but everything else was completely original and also bad.

The show has never been terrible in the way that like, Family Guy became actually bad. At its worst its always just been like, forgettable.

The main thing is is that it's basically a different show now. It can't be the thing it was in the 90s now that shit like Family Guy is in its 20+th season too. It took a while to find a new identity, but most people just aren't wiling to actually give it a chance again.

I wouldn't say Family Guy became outright bad either; though it definitely wasn't nearly as good for a while, and while it's better than at its worst, it hasn't picked up to the same extent Simpsons has. Family Guy went from "okay" to just "good, but nowhere near what it once was". Simpsons is possibly at the best it's ever been IMO.

Imagine a game like that South Park rpgs. You play a new person who moved in next door to the Simpsons on the other side of their house. (So not the Flanders)

You make your character and can be either a dad, a mom, a boy or a girl. And that determines who your first friend is in the Simpson family and who gives you your first quest. So Homer, Marge, Lisa or Bart
