The same reason that until Clemson beat SMU in the ACC Championship, Alabama was going to make the playoffs...with 3 losses. The same reason Alabama got in over an undefeated FSU team last year. The playoff committee and ESPN are the SEC's marketing arm. Their wins are beating terrible people like Uconn and Northwestern barely. Then playing a small school like Elon and Middle Tennessee State. The middle of the road and bad teams they pretty much just barely beat. They played 3 of the 6 teams that finished above them and lost to all 3. To be fair Ole Miss has a couple cupcake small school like Georgia Southern, Furman and the previously mentioned MTSU but at least Ole Miss crushed them by 76 and 49 points. Ole Miss at least had a win over Georgia who was the conference champ on the conference they were in. Ole Miss had some pretty good margins of victory over the middle of the pack teams like South Carolina and Arkansas while having real close losses to LSU and Florida with a bad close loss to Kentucky. Ole Miss played 2 of the 7 teams that finished above them and they beat both of them. Bowls are pretty meaningless but I would expect Ole Miss to win even without looking to see how many people are sitting out. What NDSU has done is just nuts. Especially considering when they moved up from Division II they had the most titles there at the time as well. I remember when I thought what Georgia Southern and Youngstown State had done was impressive and then being blown away by Appalachian State winning 3 in a row. What NDSU has done is just nuts. Especially considering when they moved up from Division II they had the most titles there at the time as well. The only thing on that level Ive seen in college is Division III Mount Union Purple Raiders. SDSU was kicking ass a few years back as well. Classic bully ball there. Allar definitely has missed some throws. Pretty open wheel route to Singleton would have been a huge play. He has missed a few. So far though this is what I expected.
