Honestly its probably for the best.

I cant imagine any scenario where it wouldve been well received. There wouldve been some stupid change from the original game that fans wouldve had a completely unwarranted meltdown over.

Saber Interactive said that it was still in development, back in April 2024. I hope it turns out well because KotOR is one of my all time favorite games.

I don't know why I thought this, but I felt if they decided to have the protagonist voiced, Britt Baron (FF7 Remake Tifa) would be a good choice.

Lady Revan is Canon to me

I hope it still happens. Was pretty hyped when they first announced it.

they weren't able to monetize the shit out of it, right? it was a functioning game without mtx or a battle pass and massive FOMO opportunities.

It was pulled because Aspyr had been a 100% a port developer since the 90s, and this was to be a total from-the-ground-up remake, despite never really developing a game from scratch before.

That was back when Aspyr were the ones working on it. They showed a vertical slice of what they had worked on so far to the execs. The execs hated it, 2 of Aspyr's directors were let go, and the game was put on indefinite hiatus. That shit show happened in 2022.

The development was officially handed off to Saber interactive that same year. The last official thing we heard was in April 2024, Saber's CEO confirming to IGN that the game was alive and well. That was after Saber split off from the Embracer group in March 2024.

Also interesting to note that in September they announced a significant equity investment. Hope that helps fund the remake further.

Judging by how gaming has worked lately, execs hating it is more a sign of quality than anything else.

Daddy's Money MBAs are by and large fucking useless.

The Mafia 1 remake was awesome. I think remakes just with slight tweaks and a major graphic update are easy enough to not screw up

The GTA ones were dumb because they barely improved the graphics. They brought the games from like PS2 graphics to PS3 lol

I think the prevailing sentiment was that "we've spent this much money and this is all you got?"

Yeah, I was honestly worried when it was in Aspyr's hands. Like props to them for trying, but they literally have nothing under their belt besides ports. They were way in over their heads lol

Revan. Guess I should have said player character XD.

I think if they cast anyone except Hale as Bastila, people would automatically shit on it, and it's not like her voice has really changed much.
