I mean, maybe the concept of console generations wasn't that clear back then?
By when the PS2 came out there were already jokes about "they making a new model every year, hahaha".

But it would've been bad to miss out on the SNES, better library than the NES even.

Having that much hairspray and other hair care products in your hair is not only an environmental hazard, but a fire hazard as well. I watched an episode of 1,000 Ways To Die where a 1950s girl managed to turn herself into a human candle because she set her beehive hairstyle on fire while out past curfew smoking a cigarette with her bad influence of a boyfriend.

Console generations were definitely a new concept for a lot people then. The closest thing a lot of people had to compare it to was probably VCRs. It was before DVD was a thing so the only reason you'd replace a VCR would be if it broke. You didn't need to upgrade your VCR to play the new movies coming out, so I kinda get why people just assumed the Nintendo they bought would work the same way.

I mean - that woman was right about how marketing is all about finding ways to manipulate you to buy something you may or may not need.

I felt bad for my parents. Theyd drop money on a new game and Id beat it within the week.

Truly a major problem for parents. By the way, doesn't this futuristic racing game look rad?!

My favorite part was how he was driving the wrong way for like 10 seconds.

I'm surprised he even kept it on the road backwards.

I like how they keep showing SNES games but also keep showing NES hardware. I bet that report further confused many parents on why the NES and SNES were different
