I've never eaten it either and never will, just looking at it skeeves me out, also the smell grosses me out. It's like it activates some kind of trypophobia or something, there's just too many of them and it looks like little worms

It tastes boring by its self. You have to add spices to it. Just plain rice is bland.

Just made this from hello fresh yesterday. Poached shrimp with garlic rice and veggies. Rice tastes like whatever you put with it, otherwise it doesn't really taste like anything. I love rice

White rice pretty much tastes like water. Different variations taste a little different, but water is the dominant flavor

Brown rice has a stronger flavor. Kind of earthy, but not in a bad way.

Rice with no seasoning is sort of like eating macaroni noodles with no seasoning.

I watched a documentary about an expedition that contacted a tribe in the rain forest and gave them cooked rice with no seasoning. They didn't like it. Then the team put salt on it and they started tearing it up.

They could've also cooked it incorrectly. It can taste like water if you made the water ratio too high.

I think I might also have ARFID, although I havent been formally diagnosed. I didnt have rice until I was. 25, so I feel you TC.

i still dont eat it often but its fine. I like it white or jasmine, steamed. It doesnt really taste like anything, and is mostly mushy. Like a flavorless, granular mashed potato.
