First gta game i played I liked it, then i played vice city and was done with the series but i might try 6 when it releases

i liked it but it wasn't till Vice City's release that i started to love GTA.

It was THE game at the time. It was great back then.

Love it even still to this day. That game was revolutionary when it came out. I played the first 2 before it, but the leap to 3D was a whole different level.

Also, it has an underrated soundtrack. The atmosphere was probably my favorite of the classic 3 games too. Liberty City really did feel like the most dangerous city in America after you piss off several of the gangs.

gta iii introduced me to open world gaming tha first time I saw it and was immediately impressed and wanted to get it. Couldnt at the time tho so just had to get my mind off it

I got to play it it for a few hours at a friend's house, and was absolutely enthralled by the sandbox mechanics. But Vice City was the one I played to death and 100 percent'd, then later San Andreas (still don't know how I got away with sneaking VC onto my Christmas wish list that year). I bought myself a copy of GTA3 sometime around then but never got more than a few hours into it.

Game was amazing, but it is one of those, well gun aiming never felt normal. Also hah I had to remember the roads and how to get places which I do appreciate. As a much more idgaf and never drove much irl now. Pulling out the paper map is a thing best left in the past.

GTA3 was my first and I thought it was awesome. I played Vice city but didn't like it. Never played another GTA even though I have SA, 4, and 5.

Anytime I drive a Stinger, I wish it was as good as the GTA3 Stinger.

Driving in GTA 3 was fast and fun. I always think of breaking the glass to steal that Banshee. Also a big problem in GTA 3 once you break ties with the mafia driving around that district sucks because ppl one shot with their shotgun your car.

Vice City was the best.

Development moved fast too then. Vice City came out in less than a year. It was originally going to be a expansion pack and then ballooned to its own thing.

It was close to Mario 64 in terms of how mindblowing and game-changing it was at launch.

Yes, very very fond memories of that. I remember when my extended family was visiting, I think it was for a holiday or perhaps just some gettogether, and my uncle was watching me play it... I was playing on my best behavior, obeying all the traffic lights and everything, until one of the pedestrians shouted something utterly obscene then I just said screw it. He didn't seem to care at all lol.

Anyway, played the heck out of it, but like other GTA games never cared to get 100%

Lazlo the RISE AND FALL!!!!! It was documented in GTA IV the last good GTA. Nah I mean it was more realistic (at the time) and wasn't a 10/10 game but it was a ride in grittier realism. Before social media blew up too.

I actually never finished it. I won't spoil what happens to Trevor!!! That's his canon name as far as I know. But I got to Shoreside Vale back in the day and I dunno I started playing other games and then all of sudden Vice City came out.

I don't think it is an over statement how much of a big deal (and a good game too) it was when Doom came out and GTA 3.

I've got some very fond memories of playing GTA 3 back in high school when it first came out.

I didn't have a PS2 at that point but my buddy did, so I played it a bunch at his place. I've never actually played through the story line since all we did was take turns going around and fucking shit up, but it was a blast and unlike anything I had played up until that point.

Once I finally got my own PS2 Vice City was out so I got that and played through it proper. Never bother to get GTA 3 for myself.

Fantastic game back in the day. But now every GTA that came afterwards has surpassed it.
