I spent two days in jury duty. It consisted mainly of sitting in a large room with a lot of chairs. Those chairs technically had padding, but I think the padding was there to protect the wood instead of my backside because the chairs were very hard and made my tailbone sore. I am now sitting on a chair that needs to be replaced, and I feel like I didn't appreciate what I had until this happened.

This lines up with all of my jury duty experiences.

I guess this is why there are a lot of tips on how to get disqualified from jury duty.

Strangely enough, when I last did jury duty we had these big, padded chairs that looked like you could very easily fall asleep in them, which is probably not what you want your jurors doing, and I was actually surprised because in our town I would've expected them to still be using uncomfortable, tiny chairs that look like things that were once attached to desks in elementary school and are twice as old as I am. The problem was that the fact they could rock/recline a bit and were on wheels was completely nullified by the fact that they were all bunched together in such a small space that you couldn't move in them whatsoever anyway, and all the padding in the back of the chair doesn't do a bit of good if you're leaned forward and not actually making contact with it at all. Ended up still doing a number on my back.

Ive gotten a jury duty notice three times I think? The first two(?) I didnt end up having to come in. The last time I did have to go, and was told that the trial would take 3-4 weeks and was a child sex abuse case. Luckily I got out of it since the courthouse was over 1.5 hours away by public transit (I did not have a car).

I got called up with a group for the first case (a criminal trial), but I guess the guy got cold feet because he took a plea deal before anyone was seated. We got sent back to the pool, and I didn't get called again. I wound up reading travel advisories on the State Department's website to pass the time.

I got Jury Duty for the first time like the week before Covid lockdowns started, and I totally forgot to go and nothing ever came of it.

Jury Duty 3 times, never had to stay more than the required 1st day

Called on to testify in a criminal case as an expert in the field, but dude took the plea bargain so I never had to go.
