Depends who you ask in-universe, but I agree.

In all honesty it was just the first example that popped into my head.

are there any movies where you think you're following the "good guys" throughout the movie, only to reveal near the end that they happen to be Nazis or Khmere Rouge or something?

Being Canadian, I'm a Hitman mark through good or bad, but there was just something so satisfying about Lance Storm's glare when someone interrupted the national anthem!

But yeah... Independence Day, the theatre cheered when the White House was blown up. Somehow, I wouldn't put it past many Americans to do the same thing if it happened today (as long as a few specific people were inside at the time).

Not a movie, but After Dachau.

You spend about a third to half of the novel thinking you're in about 1955 AD with the same level of technology, only to find out that they mean "After Dachau" instead of "Anno Domini."

In this world, the Nazis won WWII in a big battle at Dachau, and reset their calendar. As such, it's like the year 3000 by our calendar, but Nazis kept technology stagnant to keep people down.

There's a Twilight Zone episode that kind of followed this idea: "Judgment Night". The twist is that the guy we've been following aboard the British cargo liner before it's sunk by a U-Boat with no survivors (including women and children) is in fact the captain of that very same U-Boat, rendered amnesiac, put on the cargo liner with a feeling of impending doom that he can't explain, and caught in an endless time-loop so that he can re-live the horror of his own atrocity from the perspective of his victims over and over forever.

Same with No Retreat No Surrender... he was the main villain in that, but since I saw Bloodsport first, I was hoping he would still emerge.

Going back to wrestling, I liked Razor Ramon and the Rock as heels before their inevitable face turns, they count right? (I guess more Razor than Rock)

They actually did end up losing a few times. These incidents just always happened to coincide with new seasons introducing new powers. >_> They got their asses kicked by the fish monster when Zedd showed up (needed to get the Thunderzords), then they got fucked hard by Rito and his kaiju (had to get ninja powers), then they got fucked again by the villainess with unusually great cleavage for a kids show (needed to go to In Space)

I rooted for the Nation and they were clearly meant to be the scary black heel faction until the Rock's break out. Although I was down with Owen Hart being a member.
