1) George Washington is the father of our country and Britain was all evil. Washington was influential. And tariffs were evil when you rely on imports. The real reason middle and working class wanted revolution is that the Brits would not let land be taken from peoples who had treaties wirh the Brits. The real reason the American Revolution was so cool was that middle and working class could take as much land as they could steal.

2) Pioneers were a force for good. See previous.

3) Remember the Alamo. Cruel Mexico would not allow feeedom loving Texans to own slaves

4) Civil war freed the enslaved. They are still fighting for freedom. I suspect the real reason for the war was that Southerners were defaulting on their loans to the big bankers.

5) America built the railroad. This is sorta true but misleading. This was before OSHA and the minimum wage. Workers from China did a significant share of the work but were not allowed to become cituzens. A signifant portion of the investment came from foreign investors who lost their money when the railroads filed for bankruptcy. I do not have a souce but common sense dictates that some on the engineering expertise came from the Chinese.

6) We had to drop the Atom Bomb

Generals make the best presidents.

Exactly my point. Examples disagree without being able to verbally analyze the content provided.

I might add that a mayor factor in Trump getting votes is that he literally belittled the presidential candidate running against him. "She is 5' 4" with heels."

My history teachers just taught factual stuff like who signed what and where things happened, and how government was structured, thankfully.

My English and Reading teachers did all the harder stuff. Read books about Japanese internment camps, slavery, The Jungle, talked about Blue Wave, etc. Im thankful for those teachers.

I get it.

You do not like what I say but have no better response than getting personal and lack the intellectual integrity to say I do not like that. Oh no, poster s obviously at fault if you are butthurt.

Just come out and say.

Taking land from the people who lived there for thousands of years was destiny.

Not letting American residents have the choice of owning slaves was undemocratic.

Exploiting and expelling foreign workers was destiny and so was going bankrupt and getting the railroads for peanuts [destiny].

Dropping the atom bomb was destiny.

Generals make the best presidents.

Own up dudes.

Spain thought the Earth was flat but Columbus decided to prove them wrong.

In actuality a Greek mathematician who lived 194 years before Jesus calculated the circumference of the Earth and that knowledge was passed down to the educated like Columbus and the Spanish Royalty who all knew the Earth was round.

It is critcial to the path giving America economic dominance. It is hard to believe now because 75% of goods travel by truck.

It is outright history. Your loss for assuming that if you do not know it then it cannot possibly be true.

Our war of liberation was fought so that Americans would be free to steal land from Native Americans.

This is 2025 and there is an internet but people think the Native Americas had no right to the land.

So i must be wrong.

Sorry about the number of bombs. 2 bombs is certainly a small enough number to be ok /s

Not true about Chinese workers because you say so

Not true about Anerican businessmen messing with the courts to bankrupt the railroads and then uwn them /s

If you do not know it. It cannot history.

I was taught this in elementary school in the 90s. You're tripping. People make pointed arguments and you just adopt this condescending affect and act like no on can make an argument. This may be an effective strategy to win any argument, but only for yourself.

I still laugh that Grant is considered a bad president. He was hellbent in trying to make Reconstruction work and give rights to African Americans. Yeah he messed up with some of his economic policies. But he did a lot more than someone like Jackson.

You would do well to admit you cannot cope with the historical fact.

I pity your need to resort to ignoring my meaning. You have not even cogitated the few seconds that it would take to state what you think is fact.

Yes. Disagreeing may be the sign of thinking. Although disagreeing is more likely a failure to know enough to be able to agree. Add to this a lack of posting more thannremarks that are entirely personal and add to this the revealing fact that none of your posts details what you believe happened. (Do you even cogitate enough to have historical details that you believe?)

I reiterate that the war of independence was about taking land away from and destroying Native American communities.

Washington was infamous for genocide long before this war. Washington was infamous for his actions and belief in the righteousness of acquiring land from NA constantly and by any means.

This is interesting from Encyclo Brittanica

Immediately on resigning his commission, Washington was married (January 6, 1759) to Martha Dandridge, the widow of Daniel Parke Custis. She was a few months older than he, was the mother of two children living and two dead, and possessed one of the considerable fortunes of Virginia.

Same source: the part about the famous painting is amusing.

Washington, at his camp west of the Delaware River, planned a simultaneous attack on both posts, using his whole command of 6,000 men. But his subordinates in charge of both wings failed him, and he was left on the night of December 25, 1776, to march on Trenton with about 2,400 men. With the help of Colonel John Glovers regiment, which was comprised of fishermen and sailors from Marblehead, Massachusetts, Washington and his troops were ferried across the Delaware River. In the dead of night and amid a blinding snowstorm, they then marched 10 miles (16 km) downstream and in the early hours of the morning caught the enemy at Trenton unaware. In less than two hours and without the loss of a single man in battle, Washingtons troops defeated the Hessians, killed their commander (Johann Rall), and captured nearly 1,000 prisoners and arms and ammunition. This historic Christmas crossing proved to be a turning point in the war, and it was immortalized for posterity by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze in his famous 1851 painting of the event. (The painting is historically inaccurate: the depicted flag is anachronistic, the boats are the wrong size and shape, and it is questionable whether Washington could have crossed the icy Delaware while standing in the manner depicted.)

Washingtons account of his journey to Fort Le Beouf and back made Major Washington a celebrity on both sides of the Atlantic.
