Thats part of the good. It gets slightly better and the battles open up a bit more with a second set of skill to link up, but.....it takes a nosedive at 70%. The 1st 3 regions are the best parts of the game. After that, it starts to slowly get worse until it takes a sharp nosedive in the final 3rd of the game. So if you arent enjoying it now, you most likely wont be enjoying it later either. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Are you paying attention to the skit prompts? Are you camping out? Give this a try if you have not. It is silly to say the game will not get better because many players prefer controlling spoilerA or SpoilerB and you do not unlock them until later in the game. The party members are different in fighting styles. Peeps saying the game will not get better are saying they did not get better. Have you gotten the fishing pole yet? The game gets good as you get more elements, characters and skills. The ice area? There is a good boss fight at the end of it. It is worth beating the ice area just to unlock the battle. May as well. You are already there. Is the story not progressing for you? The map can show you where to go next if the story is not progressing. Is the mechanic that you collect skill points by doing jobs? EDIT There are maps in the ice area that you must unlock through puzzle solving and the puzzle vary.

I consider it bad because I've been told that all of the boss fights have hyper armor and that alone makes it a terrible Tales game imo. When you eject the disc and put the game away/go into storage and uninstall the game. The only Tales games I DNF'd. Bland boring cast, a plot that makes the prior games stories seem amazing in comparison, and a meh combat system. Prestoff posted... I thought the Demo was fantastic, but I hear nothing but bad things about the game. Which is weird because when the game came out, I kept hearing nothing but praise of "10/10" and "GOTY" stuff. The last act must be really really bad for this to happen. Imagine beating the elite four, then you gotta listen to 6+ hours of boring exposition until you end up in victory road that's just a bunch of geodudes, ratattas, weedless etc with a shit ton of HP, that you fought thousands of times before 1st region was good 2nd region was very good 3rd region was good, but the formula has become apparent. By this point in the game you have encountered 90% of the enemies in the game, and anything you fight is a reskin, including bosses. 4th region is meh 5th starts good then falls into meh, this is also the climax of the game and roughly 50-60% 61-90% is cutscene, backstory, skit bombardment with the occasional dungeon fighting things you have been fighting since game start. Final dungeon is enemy/miniboss reskin HELL. All the bosses suck too, cuz they ignore p much the entire gameplay loop and mechanics ... Copied to Clipboard!

IMO it peaks in the literal first arc where the concept is interesting and the writing is very tight. It falls off pretty hard after that, with the game pretty quickly veering into very generic territory as the subsequent arcs just feel very same-y without any of the tighter writing of the first. It feels much more like a very standard, if even very forgettable, JRPG adventure with almost nothing notable about it and the writing just getting a little worse with each arc. Then in the last chunk, it absolutely craters with some of the worst writing that I've ever seen. If you aren't enjoying it in the earlier bits, I'd jump ship. I think it very firmly gets worse and worse as it goes until it completely falls apart at the end. --- https://www.youtube.com/user/dotsdfe I make Fire Emblem videos. Sometimes. ...
