I like it well enough that I voted Yes but I like Ms. Pac-Man a lot more.

How do you actually not like Pacman? You can consider it simple enough to not want to play it long if you like, but it's an extremely solid structure.

Every single facet of the game from how many power pellets, to the speed of pacman and the path between both sides of the screen, the ghost movement patterns and even how long they flash when vulnerable is carefully though put and increases in intensity in a deliberate fashion.

I like the intellivision version, the controls are so much better than every other version I've ever played, it's actually enjoyable

It's ok. A bit too simplistic for me, but that's pretty much how I'm going to feel about any game where you are just looking at one unmoving screen/area with the same layout for basically the entire game.

What makes the Intellivision controls so good?

a combination of the intellivision controller's circle disc d-pad making movements around the maze more comfortable than other controllers, without losing precious accuracy like an analog stick does

it's also programmed to allow you picking directions before you reach junctions while still moving forward, moving your thumb around the control disc making quick accurate turns feels effortless and responsive

most other versions I've played (except maybe the old Atari or Game Boy versions, but those had other glaring issues) requires a clearly separate press in a new direction at exactly the correct time when passing a turn, or you'll miss it
it's a very frustrating level of pixel perfection and always feels unresponsive and unfair

Its a classic and I do like it when I play it. But do I feel the need to revisit it much? Nah.

Ive hated Pac-Man for decades. Never liked Galaga or Centipede either. Donkey Kong sucked too.

I was born in 81 btw so I wasnt too far removed from the scene.

dicking around in pac-man is whatever. You'll probably die on the 5th or 6th board, if not before.

Learning the patterns lets you go really far and make it into the 9th key areas, where you play for a minute to 3 hours. It's really awesome when you play it with the patterns.

edit: also it's unfortunate but the modern port has bad input lag. i own it but it is unplayable--you have to play on mame really.

I do and while I'm not claiming it is my FIRST game it was what brought my dad to the arcade regularly in 1981 and really fueled my early gaming addiction at the arcade with this and Space Invaders. Before that it was just random pinball machines but the early 80's was when I started to get into stuff like this and Centipede and Donkey Kong and the list goes on and on.

That is also what fueled my interest to get an Atari at home and started me on a journey of being a regular console gamer for the last 40+ years of my life.

I can 100% give you a run for your money. I used to play it quite a lot in 2014/2015. I don't remember exactly what my high score was, but it was in that neighborhood. I too played an hour session to get my high score. It was on Xbox 360 and I dont have it hooked up anymore. I might have to hook it back up just so I can see exactly what it was. I was also top 5 (at the time) on Super Pac Man and in the top 10 on Pac n Pal.
