So, did you freeze-frame the Badmiral getting cooked at the end of Season 3?

Season 4 is really good. I love the one that parodies how so many Star Trek episodes take places in caves with the characters telling stories about cave missions they've been on.

It's okay. It relies too much on reference humor for my taste. Honestly my problem with most of new Trek is it relies more on nostalgia and not enough on it's own merits.

With one exception. Prodigy.

I mean don't get me wrong Strange New Worlds is great and LD has it's moments but, I realize I'm in the minority, Prodigy is a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of New Trek.

In fairness, Lower Decks doesn't do the save-the-galaxy thing for all but a couple episodes. Badgey doesn't count since he ended up not being a threat anyway (nothing Lower Decks crew did actually changed what Badgey would really do once he ascended and realized there was no point in revenge or killing everyone), so I'm only counting the end-of-series stuff with multiverse traveling guys who kept opening rifts.

Also, T'ana is the best kitty.

Hard disagree. I love Prodigy but the whole time I was watching it I was like "there's way too many callbacks to classic Trek for a show aimed at a generation that's probably never seen Trek before." Tons of VOY callbacks, tons of ToS callbacks, Wesley Crusher, and Kobiyashi Maru is like, the most nostalgia-laden episode in the entire franchise.

I did like that we got another instance of someone messing around so much that they confused the simulation into letting them win Kobiyashi Maru.

So in a way, sometimes it is better to NOT get the references. Yeah, never saw much of Voyager.

I wanted to like it so much but just didn't find it funny and I don't like the animation or the lack of imagination.

A lot of the references/jokes feel kinda soulless. Like they just went to a forum and shoved in a bunch of fan jokes/memes without rhyme or reason. Which to me as the same energy Hiliary Clinton going "Pokemon go....to the polls!"

Lack of imagination? Soulless references on the level of "Pokemon go to the polls"? Are you fucking serious?

Do you ever NOT have an absolute shit take on popular media?

junior officers in the Star Trek universe, showing a side of the typical stuff that would happen from a different perspective than the bridge crew. that was always going to entail a bunch of referential humor.
