Just googling benchmarks of the 4060 TI seems to be about the same as mine the 3080 which plays pretty much everything at 4k ultra settings fine. I don't see any issues being able to run everything at 4k while getting at least 60 frames per second and near ultra settings. May want to use better optimization settings for newer games or higher performing ones though but that isn't an issue at all. Running things at ultra is very inefficient. --- Gamefaqs Community Organizer ... Copied to Clipboard!

You should have no problem with 4K in older games that support it. As for newer ones, it's gonna depend on the game, the desired framerate, and the other quality settings. If you did want 4K at high settings in newer games, the only thing you'd need to upgrade is your GPU. Everything else is plenty. However, make damn sure you've got up to date drivers, BIOS, etc with that CPU - it has a hardware issue that makes it more prone to degradation / breaking down, but the relevant updates take measures to minimize the risk of it. (And in future / for others reading this - for now, it's really just safer to go AMD on the CPU side of things. If your instinctive reaction to that is "wtf, AMD are shit" based on the Athlon / FX era... they have absolutely turned the tables since then.) --- (2025-02-24) Not changing my sig until I feel like it. ... A 4060 Ti and a 14700F. Weird combination for a prebuilt. Anyways, you'd need to figure out a few things first: 1) How much space you have in your chassis for a new video card. 2) How many watts your PSU is. Your system could do 4K, but would be limited significantly by either of these things. Can you post the rest of the build, or at least the make and model? Edit: I see that it's an HP Omen. Blech. 4K isn't really worth it unless you have a huge (over 40-inch) monitor and/or are interested in 4K video editing. 1440p/120-144Hz on a 32-inch monitor is the sweet spot imo. --- Thanks for reading! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Cornmuffins posted... https://imgur.com/a/na59r9T Sorry, I should have been more explicit. I would like to know what PSU you have in your machine. Your CPU and GPU combination has me wondering if it's anything greater than a 700 watt PSU. psu is the power supply of the pc most prebuild pc's have shitty cheap ones so before you upgrade anything as the poster above said you should check yours and see what watts it is and you might need to get a better one if you want to get a better gpu but 4060ti is decent to begin with so which games do you want to play 4k for that matter we need to know if you are talking about older games or newer ones --- "You can pretend to be serious; you can't pretend to be witty." - Sacha Guitry (1885-1957) ... I'd even say it's way more of an improvement just for desktop/web browsing than it is for gaming vs 1440p. For non gamers, basically everyone should aim for 4k if their hardware is capable of it imo. For OP, I'd say go for it. Even if you can't run a game at 4k, 1080p scales perfectly on a 4k screen, but you'd be surprised how far you can get with that GPU. --- Fan of metal? Don't mind covers? even with top tier GPUs its hard to hit 4k 120fps on the newest games at max settings. i still think 1440p is the sweet spot for now, thats just me though. i -do- think 4K is great when it can be reached. don't listen to the people saying its hard to tell a difference, because its not. its just very expensive to obtain without giving up 120fps ... Native 4k is great, but a lot of PC games like to aim for 120 fps. Hard to hit that with 4k, ultra settings. But TC your rig is definitely 4k capable.
