Almost like the algorithm is intentionally fucked.

I'm convinced if you took off Tim Pool's beanie, his head would look like Ray Liotta's from that one scene in the movie Hannibal.

This is why I regularly clear out my history. I know it's not for everyone, but it keeps these assholes out of my algorithm.

For some reason I was signed out of YouTube and when I went on there they were advertising the shittiest fucking right wing videos on the front page of whatever. I was so taken aback until I realized I was signed out

go through your watch history and remove any videos that may even possibly lean to a rightwing political stance at all, even the minutest amount

Just curious, do the people that have this issue have like 0 subscriptions or something?

I have been keeping track of my home page lately since people keep bringing this up, and it is consistently almost entirely accounts I am actively subscribed to, or stuff related to literally the last thing I watched unless you start scrolling down for pages... and honestly I just go straight to the subscription tab unless the daily upload from someone I am subscribed to that I am looking for is at the top of the page anyway.

I just went just now to take stock, and of the first 9 videos it lists (which for some reason already requires scrolling to fully see since they seem to have switched to giant icons), 7 of them are accounts I am subscribed to, 1 of them is an account that I honestly thought I was subscribed to but wasn't (They do a lot of group streams with someone I do follow and cover a very similar selection of games), and the last 1 is from someone I have never heard of, but is of them discussing a game I have been watching a lot of stuff on lately.

I would say that spread is pretty consistent with what I am used to seeing. I think in the past ~2 years I remember banning (or saying not interested in or whatever you tube calls it) to maybe ~3 rightwing things I saw pop up. When I was just relying on the algorithm to keep the relevant channels on top I would see this stuff, but since I started subscribing to things it really hasn't been an issue.

I keep getting the dumbass drinker recommended to me cause I watch movie reviewers.

I feel like I'm on the only regular user of yt that doesn't have this issue. My feed is almost nothing but indie let's plays, manga/anime summaries, and workout videos.

It's more about the right-winger astroturfing. If you watch any of the people hit by it you'll inevitably be sucked into the grift-sphere.
