What about T3?

If you like T2 more, you'll probably give T3 a pass (watch it); if you like T1 more, you'll probably hate T3 (give it a miss).

T3 is really just a Wanna watch a wacky Terminator movie? type of flick.

It has its moments. If you take the plot of the first two movies seriously, then T3 will not be for you. If you just wanna see Arnie be the terminator one last time before he gets too old to realistically portray the usual version of the T-800, then its harmless.

Horrible take. Every Terminator movie after the second one is bad, and the newest ones are by far the worst. Genisys is one of the worst action movies I've ever seen.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I think that Dark Fate is good, and is better than T2.

I still prefer the first movie, though.

I actually just watched the first one for the first time like 2 days ago lol.

Pretty good action flick. Nothing mind blowing but I imagine at the time it was a bigger deal than now

True. But there are six Terminator movies:

-The Terminator (1984)
-Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
-Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
-Terminator: Salvation (2009)
-Terminator: Genisys (2015)
-Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

That is all.
At least until Cameron re-licenses more rights options or keeps it until he's ready to direct one again.

Ive been going back and forth on whether or not I should watch T3 and you guys are just making me more curious lol.

I also wanna see the Christian Bale one. How bad can it be? Bale only stars in good movies!

you should watch what you want to; even if you don't think the following movies are as good as the first two, they have their own things to offer.

but it's also fine if you decide you don't want to watch them.

It's a huge step down but still an enjoyable watch and it even has some pretty good ideas about the universe in it.

I've noticed people being more kind to this one as time has gone on. I didn't find it very memorable but I don't remember it being absolutely terrible or anything.

Chiming in at 7 pages...

T1 adds far more gravitas for T2 than without. I've the T2: Special Edition & its Michael Biehn-Kyle Reese moment is massive for me as a T1 (preferred) fan.

Still, they're not films locked into a double feature mode like some sequels done tighter like BTTF or POTC 2 & 3.

So, I am re-posting those facts as *my* post, quoted, and with sources.

good thing that wasn't totally ruined in all the trailers

It's funny. Thanks to T2 being such an active part of the cultural zeitgeist in the 90s, I had the notion of Arnie's Terminator as an action hero in my head way before I was old enough to actually watch the Terminator movies. So the big surprise for me was the opposite, when I watched T1 and discovered that the Terminator was originally a villain.
