The end of the Red XIII sidequest is the biggest swerve in the game

Has to be the chicken quest.

Chicken quest is fantastic. I love how they make you pull the last box for at least like 10 seconds making you think like... Oh god, I'm actually going to have to drag this thing all the way back. And then the ending is perfect with the game over music for the chicken LOL

the use of the game over music turns the chicken quest into a piece of cinema.

Chicken running away with it! Unexpected, but a delightful surprise.

I do love Writer's Block though. It's a fun duo-quest with Red and Barret.
