The title of this topic is "Goodbye, Pell Grants...", but the tweet indicates that Pell grants will still exist, just under another department. I agree completely that getting rid of the Department of Education (or if conservatives are to be believed, whatever is actually being done to close it without closing it because Trump can't technically close it) is nonsense, but it's no good posting things that directly contradict your opening statement.

I will say I do sort of admire the whole "He said he'd move it to other agencies!" grift that keeps working somehow when the actual plan is, and has always been, dropping these services like a rock, instantly, and letting the next administration - if there is one - figure that out four years from now

Like, it's happening now with the education stuff. It's what's going to happen to social security/medicaid. It's what's happened to every department looking into Musk's garbage. "But he said no cuts!". Remarkable.

I think the new agency is Peter Thiel. All the money goes to Peter Thiel. If you want to go to school or a student who needs accommodations you ask Peter Thiel and if says yes he will give you the money.
