Do you take his threat of wiping the blue states of the map as threat of nuclear attacks and if so, do you take that threat seriously l?

Absolutely fucking not.

Right now I genuinely think it was a case of "but what he meant was ..."

As in hes going to turn them red.

The violent language and imagery associated was absolutely intended though, and he's an asshole for it.

You cant "only" nuke blue states, so no.

He absolutely wants to. We've known since before his first presidency that he's desperately eager to use nukes, and since then, he's done more than enough to demonstrate that he likes the idea of straight-up murdering anyone and everyone who doesn't get on their knees for him. (I know what I said and I said what I meant.)

With how Trump is, it's inevitable.

The answer is almost certainly not, but I voted probably not because nothing seems to be off the table with this administration.

I'm pretty sure even Trump's yes men would say "absolutely not!"

No and for several reasons.

• Using nukes unprovoked regardless of the context is a unspoken red line that will recieve immediate retaliation from other nuclear powers.
• Blue states would only be nuked in the event they have actually succeeded from the rest of America and become dissident states in rebellion of the regime. That means after a civil war.
• Last but not least America has the ability to reduce cities to dust without so much as glancing at its nuclear arsonal. Think Gaza except because they simply want to wipe the states off the face of the map they just raze them to the ground in a few hours rather than piece by piece.

As a doomer I think the notion that nuclear weapons are going to come into play is just giving in to hysteria. The threats from the regime are much more sinister and threatening than nuclear weapons.

Metaphorically he has. Hes disproportionally cut funding in blue states so far. Medical research, federal workers etc

Nah. More likely, he'll just rally the military and law enforcement into becoming his own personal goon squad and enact violent coups against blue states' leadership without needing to reduce the physical cities to radioactive dust.

Don't underestimate Trumps hatred of blue states.

That would take re-aiming the nukes, as they're programmed on trajectories towards Russia and other 'enemy' countries.
And one little-known fact about nukes, once they're launched, there's no going back. They don't have self-destruct packs on them.

I don't think he would use nukes. I think he would level the blue states with normal explosives. Everything Trump says he means, so I 100% believe he's going to do some form of this.

Trump is more likely to nuke Nuuk than he is to nuke Sacramento or Albany and the people around him won't let him nuke San Francisco or NYC(both cities are way too economically important).

That's damaging the economy in a way that massively hurts billionaires. Including ones allied with them.

If a state gets nuked, it will carry over to other states. Radiation isn't exactly easy to contain.

More to the point, we no longer have a country at that point. Trump likely... does not get to see the aftermath of his idiocy in this hypothetical. Chances are someone stops him before it gets that far, because "that far" in this case means the country gets burned to the ground in civil war.

If you're going to doom, be realistic about it. Even Trump knows this is an unsurviable outcome, and I think he's a fucking dumbass.

Musk might be [redacted] enough to think he can survive a Mad Max style scenario, but he wouldn't want to give up his luxuries.

But yeah it's ultimately this. Billionaires still want things. They don't want the country reduced to ash, because then they can't live like kings.

I think he legitimately believes the blue states are only blue because of illegal immigrants voting so with his deportations he thinks they won't be blue anymore.

I hope he hasnt seen the 1980 Superman movie. He might think Lex Luthors plan was a good idea.

no. what he means by how he's gonna "wipe the blue states off the map", what he is ALREADY paving the way for, is to keep pushing the false claim that the Democratic party is bribing illegal immigrants to cross over into the US and vote Democrat and that's the only reason blue states are blue. and he's gonna deport all of them, and so suddenly without their votes, blue states will go red instead. but what will really be happening is he is going to send Musk to the blue states just like he said he sent him to Pennsylvania for a month, and Musk's such a genius with computers, especially those voting computers, and then they won Pennsylvania in a landslide. mark my words. the same will happen with blue states.
