While at work, I talked to someone who was a 31B/Military Police, but he wasn't on duty or anything so only on a technicality have I verbally interacted with a police officer.

I talked to a retired cop a few days ago (didn't know at the time he used to be a cop)

I don't know if I have ever actually spoken to an active duty cop in my life

Yeah. I sometimes interact with them at one of my jobs.
Most recent one was the officer talking about the tasers they have now - they fire 1 electrode at a time, but 2 still need to connect for it to work.

Not an on duty one, but it's entirely possible one or more customers I've talked to at work could have been one.

yes. there were two on duty at the protest i went to on International Womens' Day. i walked by them as i was holding my protest sign and I politely thanked them for keeping order. they responded kindly.

One of my closest friends does forensics. He's also pretty far left, and apparently gets into heavily heated arguments with the other cops that's almost come to blows.

He started going to college for law enforcement, then started leaning harder left the further he got into his education. He's often the first person to bring up politics and will try to argue with anyone. And he apparently starts this shit with the other cops who are mostly MAGA. The rest of us keep telling him he's gonna get himself shot, and we're not joking.

If talking to other dads at kids sporting event counts then yes.

The closest I've gotten to it is seeing the occasional cop car on the road.

The last time I spoke with a cop was several years ago when I was dealing with my dad's tax situation at city hall. Other than that, there hasn't been anything in probably 20 years.
