Its weird when youre having too much fun and the cops get called. Its funny because I think its just literally cheering and throwing popcorn, which is so funny to me that cops are getting called for popcorn. Yeah, its hilarious. Ive seen so many funny videos," Hess told Entertainment Weekly. "Its great, especially when people are climbing on their friends shoulders and standing up and cheering for those moments. Its like this crazy anticipation. But, man, Im just glad people are making memories with their friends and families."

Im just so happy that people are finding joy in going back to cinemas and seeing things as a community, as a group of people. Its like weve become so isolated on our devices, and its just fun to experience things as a group of human beings. I think people are starved for that experience. So its fun that theyve found it in this goofy movie that weve made.

Because employees have to pick up in-between shows but if there is so much on floor, that means the next show is a dirty theater.

It sucks for the theater staff that have to clean up that mess. It sucks for the other people in the screening that can't hear or see the movie. So it's fun at the expense of others. Not sure why the director doesn't get that

Make him work a full shift at a theater where the audiences are doing this shit for every showing. He's the guy who has to clean up in-between and handle complaints from the other patrons who aren't being destructive idiots.

People wanting to go see a movie to socialize and have fun is perfectly valid. If you work at a theater, you're already cleaning up spilled popcorn and candy all day - other than selling tickets and making sure the projector works, that's practically your job.

Think about it for a second, if this was such a big deal than theaters wouldn't ever show midnight movies.

Jesus, the last time I read people doing stupid shit like this in a theater was with Minions 2. Funny enough, my niece and nephew wanted to watch Minions 2 and Minecraft and I told them both times "no".

don't think its about the popcorn being spilt but owners are reporting seats are getting trashed. You would need the cops to press charges for damages.

I used to manage a theater, calling the cops regularly was normal.

Theres nothing crazy about it. These kids need to learn a hard lesson. Body slamming theater employees, trashing the venue, and abusing animals is a perfectly arrestable offense. Idk how you could possibly argue otherwise.

That's been the lesson for a while now unfortunately. Teens also did similar things for the Minions movie in 2022. And for several years, businesses had to place curfews on minors during the summer because groups of teens were causing trouble at malls, theme parks, etc.

In fact, back in 2022 when I was seeing a movie at a mall, they went into lockdown over an active shooter scare. Turns out, some teenagers were causing a ruckus and throwing chairs in the food court. People mistook the loud bangs as gunshots and panicked. It worked out because we were already in the theater lobby when they locked the doors. We were the only ones in that screening of bullet train lol.

That's not crazy at all. When you have large groups of teens getting rowdy, you never know what they'll do. Better to call the police than to send theater staff to go argue with a mob.

A theater employee apparently got body slammed by some teens. I can't find a clip of the actual body slam, but there is a clip of the police coming in during the movie and saying "the guys in the back that just body slammed an employee. All of you are no longer welcome here." And escorting the teens out.

When Jack Black says the word "chicken", they immediately start screaming and jumping around the theater, deliberately throwing popcorn, drinks, and anything else in their hands all over the place to make as big a mess as possible. Some of them stand on the backs of seats and a few smuggle actual live chickens into the theater to wave around.

It's half the shows and always the loudest, most annoying, self-absorbed teenagers in packs of 5 to 20 just disrupting the entire thing before trailers even begin. Not just popcorn, not just excessice shouting and cheering and memeing, but harassing other patrons, lots of profanity, leaving the restrooms completely trashed, etc.

Add in the box office bomb that was Snow White & a weak winter season cutting hours to shreds and it's been hell.

That reminds me, I haven't seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a hot minute.

People screaming and cheering during hype moments is the point of the theater though. Tossing food and drinks on the floor however, is not.

Dudes probably just happy that its getting more people to go see it which brings in more moolah

while the film is a success it dont look to have long legs

and the director likely wanted a mario bros level success

I would never throw my popcorn like that just because its so damn expensive at the theatre.
