I doubt teslas stock recovers as long as Elon is the figurehead at the top so these attempts to minimize brand damage are kinda pathetic.

If just keying "ELON SUX" on the side of a Tesla gets you 20 years in the slammer, you may as well escalate to a crime that's actually worth that kind of punishment.

Will this actually stick, though? Prosecutors often go for ridiculously long sentences at the outset to compel plea deals, and I don't many judges handing down such tough sentences either.

In my defense, I wasn't cynical/smart enough to predict "I'll visibly and very performatively pardon AND pay traitirs, now go forth and chud without fear, my little stochastic terrorists" as a potential outcome.

I figured he was 50/50 only because they didn't accomplish their goals and lost. He hates losers and people who fail him. So I figured like a lot of his followers he'd maybe throw them away like garbage since they were no longer useful to him.

it's the insurance companies not insuring teslas because they're built like wet toilet paper. it's elon simply existing.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Almost everyone that said he wouldn't pardon them was doing so under the guise of he doesn't give a shit about them and less "Oh nooeeess, it'll look bad/he can't do that!"

I've seen rapists and murderers receive less time. What the hell is wrong with this country?

I'll admit to being one of them. I figure he would have considered them useful pawns, but essentially couldn't be bothered with them - helping others isn't exactly consistent with the rest of his personality.
