I don't think they're competent enough to build a killer AI robot network even if they wanted to.

Because frankly AI is nowhere near the level depicted in fiction yet. We don't even have the power generation to make a AGI even if we had the know-how, and we don't have that either.

I have a suspicion that whenever AI gets big it'll be because of China or some non-American private company made a breakthrough. Like that Aussie-owned private corporation that managed to get an AI working off of human brain cells and the AI ended up more energy efficient and learned faster.

American tech is trapped in the very American mindset of simply throwing as much horsepower as they can at the problem. The real inventions will come elsewhere. By extension that rules out anybody from the current regime being involved in an AI overlord situation.

they think everything is like 5g and wifi
