I'm almost given the impression that it is an unspoken skill that you cannot ever have on your resume, but which you must absolutely use once hired.

You need to properly communicate what you're trying to say, because I don't understand.

They do enough to get the simple tasks done so it makes them look like they accomplished things. Because the boss purposely gives them easy tasks because they don't want them messing up the larger ones

It's good until there's mandatory layoffs and a need to cut people.

At that point being simple and not as capable as another guy who can do your job plus others... Makes you a target
