The main reason for that is to avoid social/professional repercussions. Of course, I'll say things among close groups of friends but even there the social repercussions can be too much. The polarization even among people that are mostly the same politically has become way too much. I'm hoping that practice should carry me unless they go through the trouble to find out who I am behind this account (with all the earth-shattering controversy I suggest).
