Outside of BG3 easily the best fantasy RPG I've played.

I actively avoid any online based game. Always heard good things about it though and it seems to be the only game post merger in the last 20+ years that has actually satisfied some of the fanbase, along with XI.

For the most part. ARR was grueling and only the Gold Saucer was what kept me going. It picked up, and some parts of the expansions are peak FF. It was a great community as well, especially playing with my wife. I haven't played Dawntrail.

I think it is a well-made MMO with a lot of really dumb mechanics and filler in the first 50 levels. The first part is so boring that I didnt want to do any more.

It is a beautiful game world and has fun boss battles and some good story elements. When it isnt forcing you to backtrack and talk to 50 NPCs who dont know what brevity means,

Shadowbringers and Endwalker are unforgettable experiences, I love them so much

Tried it before ARR happened (and like a free weekend after). Was a huge fan of FFXI, but 14 was so different it just didn't feel right.

Never played it but I like the lore, setting and art style. Derplander is an epic multi-class hero.

Yes, but I have trouble recommending it because of the insanely long time it takes to get off the ground (you can beat a short JRPG by the time the plot and gameplay pick up to a reasonable degree).

And even then it is still riddled with long portions of busywork and slow world building.
