The NYC one, once, back in 2008-9ish.

I almost went to the NYC one in 2005. I was in NYC for the Depeche Mode Playing the Angel CD signing (the same week they were going to be playing in MSG on the Touring the Angel tour). My plan was to head into the city early, kill some time (by going to the Nintendo store - among other things - because it had only been open for a few months at that point and I wanted to check it out), and then head over to Tower Records for the signing.

Unfortunately, when I passed Tower Records around noon the line for the signing already seemed unreasonably long, so I blew off most of my plans for the day and just got on line early. Spent all day on line reading Foucault's Pendulum, did the signing, then headed for the train home because it was past 9pm by that point.

(Wound up reading pretty much all 500 pages of Foucault's Pendulum as well - I'd started it on the train into the city and finished it on the train ride home.)

I was in the city tons of times after that, but almost always with someone else, and there were almost always better or more interesting things to be doing rather than going to the Nintendo store, so I never did make it there.

Now my city-hanging days are pretty much behind me.

Nope. Closest I've come was perusing the video game section in Wal-Mart.

I think. Even though the NES and SNES were apart of my first gaming systems, after those, Nintendo was mostly disappointing.
