Nintendo doesnt want to bring back a vast majority of their older games and buying older consoles just to play said games is just too expensive or its becoming a lot more expensive

plus cartridges, particularly n64, gb/gbc, gba cartridges dont exactly dont exactly last a long time. Some have batteries, so like if it dies the save data gets wiped. Even worse is that, n64 cartridges always had wonky connectors so the older those n64 cartridges get the more likely they will fail to run every time you turn on the n64.

Depends.

Back in the day, absolutely. Nowadays, the communities are far too tolerant towards open discussion of piracy to the point they partially facilitate it which goes without saying is bad for the scene as a whole. This was an unspoken rule specifically because keeping noses clean was how they stayed out of the line of fire. Even CEMU, the BOTW on PC emu, was left alone because people were vigilant to chase out idiots asking for decrypted files. Something changed during the Switch era and they got a little too cute with the double speak (can't link the files but here's the hash, teeheehee) and "secret" Discord servers that have a piracy room and they're shocked that emulation is becoming more and more synonymous with piracy despite their favorite YouTubers saying otherwise.

They're also considerably more entitled and hostile towards emulator authors for not prioritizing the games they want to play instead of making an emulator that actually emulates the hardware. This was always a problem to be sure but with the idolization of RetroArch, which is run by people who make it their life mission to vilify emulator authors, it seems to have gotten worse. Too many of the greatest minds leave the scene or worse (many are LGBT, you figure it out) because people are pricks about it.

As for straight piracy sites, Nintendo has access to Google so they can find them without your help. Reporting them is pointless.
