Listen... it's not so much that there are people in Gaza dying that bugs me, it's that people get mad about petty things that do not matter at all. That's probably my biggest peeve of all time. I'm not trying to "starving kids in africa" anyone.

It's crazy to think the last time Nintendo made something I almost bought was the Wii. And they've been making things I don't want ever since.

No. I wanted one for launch day, but I have such a huge backlog and Im trying to save money for some other stuff

Im 99% sure my wife is going to buy it for me for my birthday/Christmas (both in December) so Ill just wait until then. If she doesnt, Ill definitely buy it in January.

At least if you get it in Dec/Jan, Dk and MP4 will be out.

I keep seeing YouTube thumbnails like this is a Wii U situation underwhelming sales numbers Nintendo is done for then you look at the actual data and the first week has been insanely successful. Which, honestly, was what I expected the whole time. This whole fake outrage/manufactured hate thing surrounding it is really bizarre.

It remains to be seen if the momentum keeps up enough to meet projections (between scalpers and die-hard fans, strong initial sales are to be expected regardless of what happens long-term), but if memory serves projections were estimating 15 million sales this year, compared to the WiiU's 13.6 million lifetime sales. The WiiU managed 3.45 million in its first two quarters, so it's not like there's no precedent for decent launch sales turning into an ultimate flop (by comparison, the DS sold 5.27 million units in roughly the same time frame, the Switch sold 4.27 million, and the Wii sold 5.84 million), but regardless of what the future may hold there's no current reason to expect another WiiU situation. They've dodged the name issue, they've secured plenty of third-party support right out of the gate (and even if they do miss some high-profile multiplats, the Switch carved out a solid niche for itself for playing less-demanding games and that niche still exists for the Switch 2), there are plenty of interesting new first/second-party titles coming down the pipes... The pricing has generated some ill will (but won't put Nintendo at a disadvantage long-term because the rest of the industry will be doing the same in short order), and there have been a few gaffes like Welcome Tour being somehow even worse than people expected, but as it stands things are on a pretty good track.

Indeed. There's enough of a hate bandwagon for the Switch 2 that youtubers need to get on board with it to stay relevant. There's no room to let silly things like empirical reality get in the way of that.
