As a crafting/survival game it's actually really intuitive and fun. As a monster collecting/battling game it's halfway decent at best. I still enjoy playing the game every once in a while, and the devs keep updating it with lots of free content.

I liked it until it became apparent it was a massive grind at around level 30. I dropped it then.

i guess Ill say like

I was hooked for its first two days or so, and the rest of my friends just stopped playing, and I never went back.

It serves as a good example that open-world, survival crafting games that never leave early access can be loved even on CE.

Should they have gone a little harder on marketing that isn't "look, edgy pokemon!"? Yes.

Is the game good? It's alright. I like the automation aspect and not a lot of other games do that, I think. The actual "go collect the Pals and explore" bit kinda sucks in that way it always sucks for survival crafters

My world got deleted a year ago and I stopped playing had all the pals, the captured bosses, max speed condensed jet dragon with all abilities and had done breeding and condensing programs for a lot of critters pretty much all the legendary gear and built up bases. *heh, and all tech researched, max catch rate, and completely maxed stats

waaay too much time invested just to start over

Ark with Pokemon was fun.

I do hope that all the features removed as part of the legal conflict with Nintendo get placed back into the game in the future. Nintendo trying to patent mechanics, after the fact, and ignoring the myriad of other games that also use said mechanics, just reeks of pettiness.
