I did pre-order the FFVI and FFVII $70 ones and whatever that $20 starter set is but I'm considering returning them once they arrive. I don't even play MTG and really only wanted them because it was FFVI. I didn't realize they were out this week.

Naw, I was able to get them at MSRP.

Nah even at MSRP it is kinda over priced

But it looked like to me the stores I stopped by did not even stock the cards yet. There was no empty spot for the packs, so I don't think people already picked up everything.

Me and a friend of mine open together I've actually got a big pile of shit to open across the big 3 TCGs because our schedules are fucked and we can never hang out

I know my work had some on Friday and were sold out before my shift.

I know i have checked work every day and they haven't restocked yet. Than again I start at 2:00 pm so it's more likely that if they restock them it's sold out before I get there.

I'll just wait for the card to be modded into Shandalar if I want to play with them.

No. Im less than impressed with MtG leaning into this Universes Beyond crap. Just another one of the growing number of things Im disliking about their business model lately.

Canceled my preorders a couple weeks ago for the same reason.

I got the 4 Commander decks for MSRP. I consider them overpriced even for that, but don't know if that's what you're asking considering the scalper prices.

I had 3 of the 4 ordered well in advance, but couldn't get the last one until the week before release. Called the local game store about holding one and they wanted $100+ per deck. So some of the smaller stores might be asking scalper prices, too.

Yes I got them from Amazon. They are supposed to deliver today.

Although now I just checked the order page and they do say no returns on them. That stinks. My fault for not noticing it before and keeping a better eye on the release date.

Edit: Although now I just checked my order details and I do have a return option so that's weird. Guess I'll find out once they actually deliver if I can return them or not.

I just saw a final fantasy MTG booster pack at work and hid it behind some things. It was the only one there. Lol. I doubt it will still be there when my shift ends.

I play Yugioh.

I have no interest whatsoever in either MTG or FF

They are about $750 in my country.

I was considering it, but played with a pair of the commander decks my friend got and realized I don't really like mtg anymore lol

I bought a regular booster box, the starter deck, and a single collector booster.

If the collector booster was the price of normal ones, I'd be much more inclined to buy others, but really that's the only thing I kind of regret picking up. Got the Booster box and starter deck(s) for not much more than other sets charge, so I don't really feel ripped off for those.

Whats the MSRP for a regular booster box? I just bought one for $185.

6.99 a pack, so 30 packs would be 209.70.

So you did pretty good if it was sealed, not sealed one would assume someone ripped boxes until a hit and then repacked the rest.

But Collector boosters are where it gets wild because those are the only way to get the big hits.
12 packs at 37.99 means retail was 455.88, current tcg market price is 845.26

I ain't buying at these silly prices, in 2 months when the hype has worn off they'll be under MSRP like every other set.

i had preordered the cloud precon, since it's the only precon that seemed like it's be worth a damn to my general play style

but i never kept on on the preorder, and when release rolled around i checked it and the preorder had been cancelled a week before launch by amazon

Regular has big hits it is just Collector has even bigger

I was compelled to preorder the FF6 precon to show my love for them making it one of the four, and a day later ordered the FF10 one.

They just arrived today, actually. Leafed through them and boxed them up. Got a borderless Strago and Relm card in one of the booster teasers, but nothing else of note as far as I can tell.

The one card I wanted most wasn't part of the precon (the artwork of Kefka poisoning the river with the underwater PoV), so I guess I'll have to hunt for that one. Not real keen on getting back into MtG, I'm just here for the artwork (which is why I got into MtG as a kid in the first place).

Apparently they do now. Once you try and confirm the return it tells you it cant be returned but you can contact customer service.

MtG has always seemed interesting to me, but I've never had anyone to play with frequently enough to get into something like that.

Yeah the MSRP is kind of ridiculous for them. I was about to, but decided against it overall. I'll stick with LCG's, like Arkham Horror card game, for now.

Better as a flip if you got it MSRP, nobody ever went broke taking a profit, but we don't really have much in the way of comparisons to do more than guess long term. The Doctor Who set has only gone up a little while the LOTR set has shown steady growth. FF would seem to compare better to LOTR, but it is already going for almost as much. Also, Universes Beyond stuff wasn't legal in Standard when those sets released, but WotC stated that all Universes Beyond stuff would be legal starting this year, so that may have helped both of them climb a little where it might already be baked into FF.

Yeah the Commander precons are $70 MSRP. Scalpers started at around double that, but it's balanced at a little over $100 close to release.

I stopped paying much attention once I got mine preordered at MSRP, though.

I bought the 4 commander decks (not the $1000+ collector edition ones) a couple days ago, they're not delivered yet though.

Was going to wait until they were a bit cheaper, but didn't feel like waiting.
