I really don't think there's anything else that qualifies here.

Honestly, kinda yeah.
It was poorly designed to be sure, but seeing Tomb Raider on a handheld back then was pretty mindblowing. It probably could have done better if the cell phone stuff was optional.

Nothing about the WonderSwan managing to get 40 hours of battery life out of a single AA battery while being more powerful than both the Game Boy and Neo Geo Pocket?

Not a console but the 3D Saturn controller was so ahead of its time. Not only did it have a hall effect stick/triggers but analog input was so accurate that to this day a lot of original games control better than rereleased versions and via emulation.

PS2 Slim is honestly too slim. Like its kind of ugly. Its smaller than the PS1 slim.

Its like so small that there cant possibly be computer parts in there. This thing runs MGS3? Theres nothing in there!

The nigh-indestructibility of most Nintendo systems. In particular, the Game Boy that famously endured a bombing in the Gulf War and still worked afterward.

That's not a tech issue. That's product design issue -- they are intended to fail so people buy replacements.

Okay, true. Sony was fucking insane for doing a disc-based handheld.

game gear

came out in 1990(91 in the states) and yea it's well known as a battery hot eating 6 AA batteries in like 2 hours. but did color way before nintendo. 8 bit but looked better than gameboy games and could play master system games on it.

but think a lot of it was nostalgia cause a friend had it and i never did and i remember it looked much better but just watched a vid on sonic 2 and yea you can tell it's just good 8 bit graphics and doesn't look like the genesis version like i remember but still think it's cool for a color portable system ahead of it's time.

That's why it's a good engineering feat, you have all these options, you just use garbage.

Out of those, PS2 Slim.

GBMicro and PS3 Superslim are kinda impressive, but nothing compared to the PS2 Slim. The PSOne was a cute design, but not overly impressive size-wise.

I recognise the Mega Drive (or Genesis) itself, the Mega CD, the 32X, the Game Genie and the two Sonic games, but I count three other items that I don't recognise. What are those?

Above the 32x is... I forgot the name, but it allows to play Master System games on the Genesis.
Above that is a cleaning cartridge.

And above the Game Genie? There appear to be three cartridges there - the top two are Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, but do you have any idea what the one in between might be? I'm not aware of a triple-Sonic lock-on combination!

Sadly the PS2 Slim. We haven't had a stationary console nearly as small since then. They call the PS3 Slim a slim, but we all know that isn't true. The Xbox Series S comes close, but its still not as thin as the PS2 Slim.

Why is the PS3 Super Slim even here it wasn't that much smaller than the Slim which also wasn't small. It is the best looking PS3 though.

It is a pretty significant downsize.
