Floppy discs count.

I don't physically have it with me to take pictures, but I own a copy of Riven for the PSone, came on five CDs.

Panzer Dragoon Saga (4 discs)

Lost Odyssey (4 discs)

I've got a few 4 disc games on PS1 like FF8, FF9, The Legend of Dragoon.

I've never seen anything more than 4 though.

I had an old PC game that came on several floppy disks, but I cannot for the life of me remember how many disks it was.

Dont think I own anything more than 4 discs.

I specifically remember because for years I was recycling them.

Im sure there were longer ones I played. They were dark, wonderful times.

4 discs. It's possible I had a PC game with more floppies (maybe a Sierra game?) but I don't remember and no longer own them.

I know a lot of PC games came on a stupid number of floppies, but that seems like a lot for an old FPS.

Nah. The original. This would have been 1990 or 1991 maybe.

I dont even think it was ripped off either. It fell under that weird Doom freeware model if I remember correctly.

I'm not even sure if I have a 2 disc game. I think I might have something from when I bought a pile of games off a friend, but if I do it's something I haven't played yet.

i voted 4 but i remembered that i do own Baldur's Gate 1 + Tales of the sword coast so that's 6 CDs

Riven on the PS1 has 5 discs. If you count Sims 1 and its expansions, my highest is 8.

FF8. 9 was my first and favorite, but I never owned the physical

4 discs for:

• 11th Hour
• Final Fantasy VIII
• Final Fantasy IX

I own FFVIII and FFIX.

Final Fantasy 8 and The Journeyman Project 3 are the two games I recall having with four discs. Don't think I ever had more than that.

Lunar on the PS1 had 6 discs, and as previously mentioned, Riven had 5. Lots of PC games were on 5+ discs before DVDs became the standard.

I used to have 4 disc games like FF8 and 9 but I have the digital remasters now. I still have a few two disc games like Star Ocean 2, MGS, and Dragon Warrior 7.

Technically it's my original copies of Star wars Empire at war and the expansion pack.
Both are 4 disc sets, so 8 total

I still have my PC copy of Riven (1997) sitting right here on my desk. Five disks.

That I have physical copies of: 2
That I own digitally, but initially sold as a multidisc set: 4

I dont have any games on disc anymore.

Lunar is most definitely not 6 discs.

On PS1 5 discs is the most and only two games contain 5 discs.

Arc the Lad collection has 5 discs however disc 1 was Arc the Lad. Disc 2 was Arc the Lad 2 while the third disc is the monster arena from 2. Discs 4 & 5 were Arc the Lad 3. There was also a bonus making of disc.

IIRC, Call of Duty 2 was something like 6 discs

Actually, come to think of it, I also had the Battlefield 1942 Complete Collection, which I'm pretty sure had more. I think that one might have been 8 discs.

Far Cry on PC came with 5 discs, and i think that's the most of any game i have.

For PC, games on four HD floppy discs: Dune II, Warlords II, Master of Orion
For PS1, games on four CDs: Fear Effect, Fear Effect 2, FF VIII, FF IX, Koudelka
For 360, games on four DVDs: Lost Odyssey, Wolfenstein: The New Order

Most notably in games, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020's physical edition for PC released on 10 DVDs.

I had some games back in the day that would be on 10+ floppy discs. Lots of the Sierra point and clicks towards the end were on heaps of discs

idk i remember math blaster took a lot of disks to install.

I have The Pandora Directive on 6 CDs. I think we also had X-Wing on 6 floppies but it's surely lost

FF9 4 discs

4 for me also. (Multiple PS1 games). Ah damn, I do have arc the lad collection also and I forgot that one has 5.

Kid and teenage me used to be amazed when I would see those PC games with like 6 discs and whatnot. I think some of those myst games was like that.

Every now and then we get those modern games that keeps the spirit alive with giving you multiple discs just for your base game install. (FF7 Rebirth also comes with 2 discs).

I would have to go digging in the attic which I'm definitely not going to do but I have a few old PC games that come on an absolutely stupid number of 3-inch floppy disks.

Tokimemo 2 also had three expansion discs you could get for a system that allowed for one of its voice systems to apply to more characters in the game, so a full collection is 8 entire discs

I want to remember that Tie Fighter was on five floppies, and the expansion was on two, so seven floppies.

Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within, which has six CDs. Also, the original Baldur's Gate. Five CDs for the base game, and the sleeve has a sixth slot for the expansion disc.

Some of the floppy-based games could be nuts, but I don't own them any more. Gabriel Knight 1 had 11 floppies. Time Zone had twelve if you count each side separately, and that was in 1982. Amiga games could have even more floppies than that, but that's because most Amiga users didn't have hard drives, and consequently the data on the floppies needed more redundancy and less compression.
