It doesn't, but it's also really difficult to imagine any other kind of price change given the direction of prices this console gen.

Seems more likely prices will drop so they clear out the inventory and put more switch 2 on the shelves but I guess we'll see.

They don't want to come out and say prices are dropping so people don't wait until August to buy one, and others will buy them early in fear of a price hike.

It's 100% a price increase. They put up the Switch version of Pokemon Legends Z-A for $84.99 CAD despite the fact that every other $59.99 USD game they have is still $79.99 CAD.

And Kirby and the Forgotten Land (for example) is currently cheaper to buy a Switch copy of the game ($79.99) and then the upgrade/expansion pass ($29.99) for $109.98 CAD than it is to buy a Switch 2 copy of the game ($114.99 CAD).

If they match that $84.99 CAD on PLZA then it's the same. So you know that's what they're going to do.

that might as well say price increase. the market for ps5 and xbox caused prices to increase in other countries and i'm pretty sure they increased in canada as well. xbox even increased them by like $100 in the states. sony just hasn't gotten to that point yet in the states. the market is tariffs.

Also it wouldn't make any sense if it was a price decrease, almost everything is currently priced below the USD:CAD exchange rate.

People seem to be forgetting that Trump just through another temper tantrum and trade talks between him and Canada have broken down, so we might be looking at another round of tariffs.

Nintendo could very well be reacting to that.
