You have to hide in one area. Once you're set in your hiding place, you cannot move outside of the area (but can move within it).

Once you've hidden, a 6 year old will come looking for you starting from the Front Porch. They will have 4 minutes to find you. What is the best place to hide to maximize your chances of avoiding the 6 year old for 4 minutes?

* Assume each area has what you might normally expect in that room. Ie, a fridge in a kitchen

I'm hiding in the potted plant on either the front porch or the balcony. Six-year-olds are terrible at that.

In the cabinet underneath the sink in the bathroom.

Under the center part of the sitting room, Parasite (Korean film) style.

Usually theres a circle on these maps to show, but where is the water heater?

Because I hide in there. With light bulb unscrewed.

I quickly pair my phone with any devices in the house (television, speakers, lights) and use them to lead her away from the utility room.

If Im lucky this thing also has one of those little closets for it since its not in the garage. So I can turn it off and hide behind the water heater.

I hide in Bedroom 2, which is already so well-hidden it doesn't even appear on the floor plan.

Oh, I didn't see that this was for hide n seek with a kid. I wanna give them a chance. Just behind the couch or something.

It doesn't matter what room I'm in as long as I've got a trusty cardboard box to hide under.

If it's good enough to fool trained soldiers, surely it'll work on a 6 year old.

Once the kid walks in the house it wont occur to them to leave it again, so theyll only pass by you once and probably wont even be looking yet.

You bring up a good point. The person who is "it" gives everyone a chance to be ready, but what if they themselves aren't ready?

On a related note, my brother and I used to play a version of hide and seek where the hider would scream to try to scare the seeker as they were about to be found.

Storage under a moving blanket.

In the storage room or utility room. If that's not allowed, probably inside the closet in one of the bedrooms.

Also, I'd leave my phone at the dining room table or on the sofa. It'll hopefully act as a decoy to distract the kid into thinking I'm hiding nearby.
