Yes I did really like Mikadono Sisters that much lol. The most surprising thing is that the MC is kind of great. 95% of harem shows are dead on arrival because of a loser MC. Why root for a winner then they main guy sucks? That's not a winning, that's losing! Also I think this might be doing the Chainsaw Man things with all different EDs which is wild. They don't always hit, but you should never count out PA Works.

Integrity starts at Clevatess. Show could slip away but I do really like the design of the main girl. Then Bad Girl I enjoyed, it's just the format of the show could easily lead to a drop a few episodes in of nothing actually happens.

It felt like I was gonna stick with more shows, surprised even myself when I actually typed it up.

Clevatess just suffers from a suspension of disbelief. What the fuck kind of episode 2 pulls that kind of stuff, and where is it supposed to go?

Moreso that I was on the weird minority of, "This dark and brutal shit is kinda skimpy and trash, and I sorta hate it" is probably what bugs me. There's a version of this that works already (Gachiakuta), and did that without doing half the shit Clevatess does. I then started thinking it was because I cared about the Trash Raider when I don't give a fuck about Clevatess in Boy form. Everybody on the anime reddit was like, "DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!" and I'm like trying to argue, "Meh, I'm on the fence." and fucking railed for not letting my lizard brain feel for the beat up girl. Undead knight girl is keeping me invested.

I think Clevatess pisses me off because it could be really good with just a bit more care, and I'm just frustrated that I kinda hate it.

Dont think too much about Bleach plot. Its definitely not its strong point.

I did feel for the girl but I more felt for my brain trying to understand what she was saying. Definitely no offense to the VA, but that's whatever her voice is gonna be like and she doesn't get healed or something this is gonna be a no go on that front alone.

Gachiakuta is definitely better, zero doubt. Not wachiting it because I've already read it and I didn't like it THAT much, but it's solid shounen. Adaptation seems very strong.

Im up to where Ichigo got in a fist fight with the guy riding a pig around. Whats the name of the song that was playing? With the weird chanting? I dont want to try finding it on the tube and getting spoiled on stuff.

I did try to figure this out but Ichigo v Ganju is such a minor fight apparently (took me a couple minutes to figure out that's the fight lol) that I couldn't find any clips of it on a Youtube search to hear it myself. That or the takedowns are brutally efficient.

And chanting doesn't really narrow down the Bleach OST as much as you think LOL

Anyone gonna check out Orange's new show Leviathan? It got the Netflix treatment sadly but Orange is a studio that I like checking out any shows they do, will probably try to watch it soon

It's honestly blowing my mind how good these Dress Up Darlings episodes are. Was season 1 this good? I know it was blowing up at the time but I kind of chalked it up to the actual series being good, I didn't hear anybody specifically mentioned how good the animation/direction was, but maybe I really should got back and watch it if it's even close to this.

I really feel bad for Bad Girl for airing the same day as this, Hikari, and Weathering the Rain. Poor shorts based gag Yuri surrounded by powerhouses lol.

I do not envy whoever had to sub this.

Watching Leviathan, a few episodes in.

This was clearly not created as an series. This was a 4 hour film that got chopped up into episodes. It'd a bit unfortunate! Don't know why they don't just release it as is, probably someone in marketing thought the runtime would scare people away.

Finished Leviathan.

Fairly disappointing. Definitely had me engaged at times, but the fantastical alt history setting goes almost entirely to waste with a bog standard predictable plot that doesn't really make any effort to hide how by the numbers and tropey it is. It's extremely obvious this was based off of a set of young adult novels.

Really falls apart in the last two episodes as well, when it just became bad Metal Gear.

Not a horrible show, but easily the worst of the modern era Studio Orange projects.

The issue with going on vacation is the backlog of new episodes to catch up on when getting home. Most stuff is still subbed, so it could be even worse. Let's see if I've got today's stuff figured out: Finales for Black Buter Emerald Witch and Kowloon Generic Romance (at least I think 13 is the last), Gachiakuta, Tougen Anki, and Leviathan. Got lots of other to do, but I'll be getting to that all today.

I didn't notice anything too egregious with the subs in the first episode of the I'm Not Gay....But- anime (I should look up what the shorthand is here lol), but it seems the MTL madness from Remow is back again with episode 2. Nokotan disaster once again.

Guess this is what one should expect from a YouTube exclusive?

I feel like the Kuma/Bonney backstory was less sad in the anime than the manga.

Not a bad thing but i noticed it watching the last episode (which was really sad).

I think its because we actually got to spend a bunch of time seeing them be happy together despite their circumstances. Both with Kuma/Ginny and Kuma/Bonney.

Yep, Kowloon was my favorite non-sequel of the spring. Started and ended great. It had many chances to go down stupid paths if it wanted, but it stuck to what it was trying to be.

Well the subs for Watanare now that I'm actually watching the episode are not the subs that were going around earlier, so either there actually is another English sub out there (Thai release maybe?), or they actually went and changed the subs within the last 7 hours.

Zero people in the reddit thread were complaining about subs, so I'd guess you fell for some faked screenshots from grifters.

Naw, these are actually people who work on subs. I followed a whole bunch back when the GBC episode 8 fisco was happening so I see them post weekly. Must be something international, then.

Call of the Night is pretty compelling already, but why does the main guy gotta be 14.

There is just a bit too much of a creep factor for me to ignore.

i don't know what that's referring to but yeah i'm at the point where if the main character is 14 i'm leaning towards drop. just watched 4 eps of Eureka Seven and the MC actually says he's 14 like 4 times.

it wasn't bad which is why i even gave it 4 ep. i'm sure it "gets better" but not quite my tempo

Just for the record, I dropped E7 for almost a year after 4 episodes.

After coming back to it it became one of my most beloved series of all time.

I love E7 but it has been a long, long time since I've seen it. Still very confident I'd love it but I do recall it being a very slow starter.

And then some. When you're rewatching it's different but on a first watchthrough it is a pretty serious drag for a few episodes.

The best thing about that skit is that the character he likely made it in reference to never actually gets better lol.

First eps of Tougen Anki and Leviathan watched. Tougen is serviceable shounen stuff. Leviathan doesn't really interest me TOO much, but Dylan looks like she'll have liveliness and fun at least. Hope it stays that way. I'm not usually into war stuff.

Dylan is definitely the best part of the show.
