It's my favorite game in the series Tony Hawk 3!

and a game I've never played Tony Hawk 4!

Except it's not really Tony Hawk 4 because they forced the levels to fit into the 2 minute format instead of the more open skate format that game had

Also they only brought over about 20% of the soundtracks between the two games so there's a good chance a favorite might be missing

If you can get over those two things though there is a great game to be had here

Averaging an 83/85 on MC/OC before you play this game don't forget you gotta wash your ass, if you must.

Shacknews - 9/10
Despite much of the remake of Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 not resonating with me, the rest of the game sticks the landing in a major way. Iron Galaxy has updated both Multiplayer and Create-A-Park modes with new features like Public Free Skate for hanging out with friends and HAWK, where players hide HAWK letters on a level where opponents have to seek them out. Its sort of like the Luigis Balloon World game mode in Super Mario Odyssey, and is a welcome addition. Create-A-Park adds new Special Pieces like Boost Pads, NPCs, Turbo Pads, Music Notes, and other items that allow players to experiment even more in this creative space. It will be cool to see where the community takes this mode as it definitely extended my playtime with THPS 1+2 after the launch hype died down. Fans who aren't super into skating user-generated levels will still be able to enjoy the same replayability of these classic THPS titles with high scores providing a neverending goal to chase like the arcade games of old. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3+4 is a faithful recreation of two pivotal entries in the franchises storied history. While some fans may be waiting for remakes of Tony Hawks Underground, I am happy to finally get my hands on a remake of my favorite game in series history. THPS 3 is a perfect game in my eyes, and while some design choices made in bringing THPS 4 to this combined remake package didnt hit me in the nostalgia feelings the same way I can appreciate the overall result. Welcome back to the 9 Club, Tony!

NintendoWorldReport - 9/10
While the 1+2 remake was excellent, Activision's track record with the series since the mid-2000s has been spotty at best. I'm thrilled that the skateboarding in this game feels just as good as it did 20+ years ago and that this goes beyond just a simple remake, with so many fun and enjoyable post-game challenges that builds off of the foundation. Something is lost in Tony Hawk 4's transition to the 2-minute timer, but I still had a great time saving Painter Neal from the shark in San Francisco. And the quality of the original levels Iron Galaxy made makes me hopeful for the future of the series, whether it leads to a brand new game or an attempt at remaking Tony Hawk's Underground. Regardless of whether or not you bring nostalgic baggage for the format from the fourth game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is an excellent video game that will keep you kickflipping and reverting to increasingly higher scores for a long time.

Vandal - 9/10
Surely, hardcore fans of the series will frown on certain aspects, but we believe the vast majority of users will enjoy it a lot. Despite minor technical issues that could be improved, it's a very complete, solid work full of love for the source material. If you grew up with THPS or want to discover why this series shaped an entire generation, this is the game for you.

Game Informer - 8/10
The THPS series shaped my music taste, fashion sense, and more while also delivering an incredibly fun timesink on my PlayStation 2. A perfect remake of these games would do the same all these years later, or at least remind me why they were so impressionable when I was growing up. While Iron Galaxy has excellently modernized the gameplay and graphics of these classics to feel right in 2025, I wish it had done a better job of highlighting the influence these games once had in their heyday.

IGN - 8/10
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a largely successful rejuvenation of the acclaimed 2001 and 2002 originals, and another very welcome time capsule of everything great about the golden age of early 2000s gaming before microtransactions and battle passes botched everything right up. Like 2020s 1 + 2 before it, THPS 3 + 4 proves again the series over-the-top skateboarding formula is totally timeless and remains suitable for all skill levels; simple at first blush, but extraordinarily sophisticated beneath the surface for those with the minerals (or the muscle memory) to push their combos to colossal levels. However, syncing THPS4 with the classic two-minute timer of the initial trilogy is probably going to be a sore point with fans who strongly regard the series fourth installment as their favourite, and discarding a whopping 80% of the original THPS3 and THPS4 soundtracks is a startlingly naive choice to make about such a famously crucial component of those games. No T.N.T.? Watch me explode.

Gamespot - 8/10
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a phenomenal game of skate, one that fans would flock to without hesitation if it weren't for some of the strange decisions regarding the game's Career mode and THPS 4 levels. Some of the changes feel needless, and overall, THPS 4 just doesn't fit as well into the same structure as the original three games. It's also disappointing that newcomers won't be able to experience the fourth game the way it was originally intended. Once the initial disappointment fades, however, you're left with a remake that still handles as well as these games ever have, and that's something that's worth playing no matter who you are.

I wanted these remakes for a long time, but honestly, after seeing it in action, I think that was a silly wish. 1+2 was one thing, with all the upgraded gameplay features like reverts and such in the old levels with modern imaginings, but 3 and 4 don't need upgrades like that, and the universal 2-minute thing... I dunno, I'd rather just play the originals.

Everything that I've read seems to be: The mission changes in 4 are weird and different, if you liked classic 4 then you'll be upset, if you're not attached to 4 then the changes feel natural like a new game; everything else about the remake (graphics, physics, content from 3) is great.

Well, except for the soundtrack, because allegedly Tony Hawk himself wanted to replace some of the older music with more modern stuff to appeal to younger generations playing for the first time, and that's why a bunch of old songs are not in the game.

That sounds like, while probably true to an extent, he is just covering for the fact that music licensing is very expensive
