I understand clothing stores are aimed generally more for women but holy shit there's like 3 isles for men only.

The mens section at target is about 1/6th as big as the womens lol

Men don't buy clothes unless it's absolutely necessary. So it isn't worth the floor space to have a ton of mens clothes.

This isn't uncommon. Most places that have men's and women's clothing options, the men's is very limited.

A perfect example for me. My work had a black tie dinner for its 10th anniversary the other week.

While we all looked great, the men mostly looked the same. Even different branded suits, shirts etc, all looked the same.

The women looked fantastic and each of them were very different from the other.

Theres a Nordstrom at a mall thats close to my house. The first floor is 1/4 womens clothes, 1/4 jewelry, 1/4 kids clothes and 1/4 shoes. The second floor is 100% womens clothes. The third floor is half mens half womens. Yeah, we get nothing.

Most of it is unwanted stock from other retailers/manufacturers. Last year's items, cancelled orders, unsold clothing, that kind of thing.

I hated working at TJ Maxx so much. I worked there for two months. I had previously worked at Mervyn's, which was much more focused on organization in clothing displays.

At Mervyn's, shirts that were hanging on displays were arranged by color and size. White small, white medium, white large, blue small, blue medium, blue large, etc.

After Mervyn's closed, I did telemarketing at MCI for a bit and that was horrible. I figured retail wasn't as bad as that, so I went to TJ Maxx.

At TJ Maxx, they just throw shit anywhere as long as its a certain size. If a customer asked if we had a certain shirt in a certain size, I'd have to just look all over the place with them. I actually started trying to organize the shirts the way Mervyn's did it, and it DID help. Then they got mad at me for doing that and told me to stop.

Yea, I quit TJ Maxx after about 2 months. I told them when I interviewed that I wanted 35 - 40 hours. They only gave me 20 hours per week. I was overdrafting on my bank almost every week just trying to pay for food, bills, and gas to make it to work. And of course, they spread those 20 hours out over 4 different closing shifts.

Then they cut me down to 15 hours per week and acted surprised when I quit without notice. They then tried to lecture me and say it would be bad for my career because they would give a bad recommendation or whatever. I didn't care.

This was all back in 2006 and literally none of my employers after that asked about my experience working at TJ Maxx for 2 months at all.

Mervyns now thats a blast. I generally get all of my clothes online since no store front close by or in the same city.

Try shopping for clothes in Las Vegas. They have everything. As a rule resort towns have an unboring selection because everyone shops on vacation.
